We rolled out the red carpet and celebrated our growth this year with an award ceremony! Students created "trophies" with tin foil and I added the award they won on the cup. Students also received awards for making growth on their MAP tests #TheRidgewayWay #buildingrelationships

We've been learning about 2 dimensional shapes and quadrilaterals... students created crayon rubbing art from shapes they drew and cut out!

In second grade we are having "daily celebrations" until the last day of school as a fun way to bond and make memories together... Today was game day; students brought in their favorite games to play with each other..even I got in on some of the fun! Such a memorable moment. ❤

My students wrote letters to convince @RWPrincipalHCSD to let me bring my dog Teddy to school.... needless to say she was convinced and today was the best day ever. The kids said "let's write another letter to see if he can come tomorrow too!" #writingwithpurpose #TheRidgewayWay

@crankyaunt @RWPrincipalHCSD My kids LOVED having him... he made them laugh, snuggled with them while they worked and even helped dry a few tears. He was a joy to everyone in our building along the way. ❤ I wish he was with us everyday.

When students finish a piece of writing I assign, they can start a new piece of writing that they choose . So many of my writers choose to write their own books so, I decided to save time on Fridays for a class author spotlight!! They love sharing their stories with each other.
