Writing isn't what you do after you have an idea. It's how you develop an inkling into an insight.
Turning thoughts into words sharpens reasoning. What's fuzzy in your head is clear on the page.
"I'm not a writer" shouldn't stop you from writing. Writing is a tool for thinking.
My goal for this year as a teacher is just to pour love, grace, and compassion on my students. What a year it has been for them. I remind them everyday that they are doing great and are capable of doing hard things. And this is hard.
Dear @GoogleForEdu,
Can you please make it so we can see all of our students and our screen does not have “You’re presenting to everyone”!
It would make our lives so much easier and we wouldn’t need a 2nd device.
Procrastination is not laziness. It’s fear, lack of knowing where to start, feeling so overwhelmed the task feels impossible. Check in on late assignments by asking “How can I help you take the first step?” #highered
#BellLetsTalk Let’s end the stigma surrounding taking mental health days. No one should be looked down upon for taking a break to recharge for their own well-being. #EndTheStigma
Today, every view of this video helps create positive change. All you need to do is watch it and Bell will donate 5¢ more to Canadian mental health initiatives. Retweet to help spread the word! #BellLetsTalk
Following direction from the Ministry of Education, face-to-face learners from K to Gr 12 at all of our schools will continue to work remotely from home (except St. Peter the Apostle in Parry Sound). We encourage students to continue to connect with their teacher daily.
When a student misses an assignment you can give them a zero or email them, check in & help them make a plan to get it done. Afraid this doesn’t prepare them for the “real world”? Maybe they’ll care because you cared, and that’s the real world I’m preparing my students for.
#ICYMI - I just curated this awesome GDrive folder of Classic games all on #GoogleSlides! Great for remote learning and social distancing...and the last week before break when we are DONE!! #satchat

Be the moment of lift in your students journey today. Grant the extension, let them hand-in work they’ve missed, provide endless accommodations to everyone, and trust your students when they share their struggles. @OpenAcademics
Today in 2/3 science I had students apply their knowledge of inclined planes by building their own! Students built various types of ramps with cardboard and other unique materials 🖍📘 to test different angles and lengths and if it is easier or harder to move the 🚗🚙 @SMCDSB_SBE
For #remembranceday2020 we prepared by reading “A Poppy is to Remember “ as well as “A Bear in War” and wrote about why it is important for us to wear a poppy. We also painted poppies on rocks to place amongst our communities.
We celebrated the nice (early November) weather and #WorldKindnessDay for a whole week! Students were so excited to share their messages and get to work with chalk outside 🌞
For the halloween door decorating contest we included pieces of our learning in a fun way- adjectives to describe 👻and 🎃. A variety of patterns with halloween themed foam stickers and felt 👾🕷👾🕷
