The day has finally arrived. We loved coming into school today dressed as rockstars and numbers! Can’t wait to spent the whole afternoon on multiplications! 🎸🥁📐
ROCK ON!
#TTRSelaine @PrimaryElaine
For DT week, Turquoise have been learning about Italian dishes! We focused on pizzas and even had the opportunity to make some ‘healthy’ pizzas! We can’t wait for the taste test this afternoon.. 🍕🍽️ @PrimaryElaine@IPAT_Edu
In science today we discussed how the number of bulbs/ batteries changes the brightness in a circuit. We wrote our predictions and then reflected on our predictions after the investigation. The outcomes were interesting! @PrimaryElaine@ScienceatElaine
Year 4 loved their trip to the Guildhall Museum where they were able to look an old artefacts left behind by the Romans! We learnt that the Romans settled right here in Rochester and called it Durobrivae - meaning the ‘fort at the bridges’. @PrimaryElaine@IPAT_Edu@justmissali
That’s sports day 2023 COMPLETE ✅ and we loved every second of it. Our collaboration skills shined through and we didn’t give up! @PrimaryElaine@IPAT_Edu
Yesterday, we took on fencing, axe throwing and became part of a human football table! We were full of energy! Can’t wait to see what we have in store for us today! @PrimaryElaine@IPAT_Edu
Today we enjoyed exploring shading and proportion to add depth! We started off using charcoal to practise shading gradients, then we drew a self portrait in the style of our Artist: Kathy Sosa. We are very proud of our work! @PrimaryElaine
Today we recapped the 4 Zones of Regulation and what they meant. After, we discussed how we feel when we’re in each of the 4 zones. It’s important to identify which zone we’re in to find a strategy to help us if we need to regulation. @PrimaryElaine@IPAT_Edu
We absolutely loved our visit from James today! James represented Rocksteady and delivered the most fun assembly this morning. He taught us what it takes to be a rockstar and we even created our very own band! Thank you James! @RSMusicSchool 🎸 🥁 @PrimaryElaine@IPAT_Edu
Jeremy taught us how complex some instruments are with non-return valves and reminded us how pumps and valves are everywhere: in homes, factories, aeroplanes etc. Mostly they work automatically, hidden from view and unnoticed! #STEMWEEK@PrimaryElaine@IPAT_Edu
Today we had a special visit from Jeremy Sampson, who delivered an amazing workshop as apart of #STEM Week! He taught us that although music can seem like a world apart from science, technology and engineering, there are lots of connections to be explored @IPAT_Edu@PrimaryElaine
Today in assembly we invited our pupils to bring their prototypes and explain what they had been investigating during STEM week! It was wonderful to hear about their new discoveries! @PrimaryElaine#STEMWEEK 🌡️🔬🧫
We spent the afternoon building our prototypes. Our project is around Rochester Castle and the big question we’re tackling is “Does the weight of a building affect its strength”. We built light and heavy castles and tested their balance against British weather! @PrimaryElaine
In English today we learned to effectively take notes. We shared the iPads and took our time to research about disfigurements. We made sure to gather information and section our work, this made it easier to analyse information and take notes! @PrimaryElaine
Today in English, we learned to describe using the correct tense. We did this by identifying the verb and then applied the correct verb form in the past tense. @PrimaryElaine
Today in English, Turquoise published their balanced arguments about whether August Pullman, age 10, should or shouldn’t attend school. We referred back to our drafts to ensure we included both sides of our argument. #Wonder @PrimaryElaine
Today we have been learning about the Torah. We took the notes we recorded from a video we watched and made a Google slide to show off the knowledge we learnt this lesson! @PrimaryElaine
Today in Science we explored a range of factors which highlighted danger to the living. We worked collaboratively to identify how we can help the local habitat. Next, we presented our ideas to the class and received feedback. @PrimaryElaine @ScienceatElaine
