“Your student isn’t giving you a hard time, they are having a hard time.” thank you @smemelissa for sharing this quote with us. Class management is something that you cannot learn in a classroom but learn from experience.
💜!! I feel it is impossible to manage students if you do not really know them. This is great for 1. Students share what they are comfortable sharing. 2. Allowing connection between teacher & student. 3. Allowing(+)environment that sets the stage for classroom management #edel339
Classroom Management: Building strong positive relationship with students is essential to establish positive environment. I think this is a great way to know your students more. #ACUedu_p
As a future teacher, it is EXTREMELY important that my students voices are heard. I believe that students understanding the importance of their thoughts and feelings is essential to creating relationships and classroom community. #edel339
R5: How do you stay passionate? Are their days when you just feel like giving up? If so, how do you push through to make sure your students are still getting your best even when you feel your worst?#edel339twitterchat
R4: I desire to work in a school that feels like a small community. I also look for freedom. Being able to choose your instruction as a teacher is extremely important to me. #edel339twitterchat
R3: I believe that the most challenging part of being a new teacher will be balance. I find that many of my lessons run over the estimated time. I feel as though teacher mentor could be helpful to me for advice for staying on scheduled time. #edel339twitterchat
R2: As a teacher candidate, I am most looking forward to setting my teaching style and figuring out what works for me and more importantly, my students! #edel339twitterchat
This is a great reminder to always be your best even on the days you’re feeling your worst. Your students deserve it. Your school deserves it. You deserve it. Learning occurs best in a positive environment ✏️ #edel339
As a future teacher, I dream of having the ability to grow with my students and to use every assessment given to them as a way to improve my own teaching. Assessment is more than a standardized test. It’s a growing opportunity for both the teacher and the student. #edel339
Being with 25, 3rd graders all day is so fulfilling, the fact that I can say that gives me reassurance that I can and will become a great teacher one day! 🍎 #EDEL339
I love this. Often times when a student says “I can’t” we just reply with a simple “don’t say I can’t”.But we never tell them what they SHOULD say or think. Be a role model for your students. Help them gain the confidence they need. ❤️
So awesome! I taught a fractions lesson today and this would have went perfectly with it. by Allows students to learn outside of their desk and classroom! #EDEL339
Once I called a student to my office, he stood at my desk & said, “Ok give me detention so I can leave.” I laughed, “You’re not getting detention; you’re getting my attention until you see in you all that we see in you. Have a seat.”
He sat, “Wow, you care like that?” #LoveWorks
I saw a post the other day where teachers are beginning to ask “what questions do you have?” Rather than “do you have any questions?” This simple change can make a student more comfortable asking questions which can strike meaningful discussions 📕✏️❤️
