Yesterday, my wife got a message that our daughter’s school bus would be delayed by 15 minutes. So my mother-in-law decided to leave a bit later when taking her to the bus stop, only for them to end up missing the bus completely.

On the drive to school, my wife and her mum were complaining and stressing about it. Then, in the calmest voice, almost like the Virgin Mary herself, my daughter said, “It’s okay, guys. It’s alright. You don't have to worry about it.”

There was a few seconds of silence in the car. My wife and her mum were just trying to process what had just happened. Then my wife looked at her and said, “You are truly your father’s daughter.”

I was smiling when my wife told me the story, but deep down, I felt really proud. I’m raising a kind and strong little girl, one who already understands that there's no point in dwelling on what has happened and letting it steal the joy of the present.
