@BenjaminCollet7 Great strategies Benjamin! Thanks for sharing. If you need an activity that stems from the strategy of 'teach positive self-talk' I highly recommend the activity 'Have You Filled a Bucket Today?'. @mrsmmangos has a great example of how it works

@judah_adam Hi Adam! I've noticed you are using Mathematics into your health and wellbeing unit. I've just come across this mindfulness activity from @KidsHelplineAU that could be practiced in Mathematics using geoboards. You should try it out! #UoNTeach#educ4750#SDG3
@punton_casey Love this resource Casey! You could even expand this idea and get students to create whole school challenges that regard health and wellbeing. The school could reflect on how well they went with the challenges at each weekly assembly! #UoNTeach#educ4750#SDG3
@tarynalobrien Hi Taryn! I absolutely love these ideas. I believe most of these could be implemented in the classroom also. Have you heard of @CosmicKidsYoga? This is another great idea of how student's could practice mindfulness. I highly recommend it! #UoNTeach#educ4750#SDG3
@jeremy_smith7 Hi Jeremy, @ABCEducationAU has such amazing resources for teachers and educators which can support student's with a mental illness. I highly recommend there website and hope it can assist you! I will leave the link here https://t.co/eOElBzDrDR

@MissMartz8 This is such a sad statistic @MissMartz8 however it does remind educator's that we can help students experience a healthy life. I have been researching the benefits of connecting students with older adults. You should take a look! https://t.co/ufU5KHIIuo

@jesslc770 I am also utilising community assets in my unit of work! I have chosen the asset of a retirement home for my student's to engage with intergenerational service learning. The community around a school can be so powerful in supporting student's learning. #UoNTeach#educ4750#SDG3
@punton_casey I agree with you! Collaboration invites support, new knowledge and relationships. Have you considered collaborating student's with the older generation? Fair & Delaplane (2015) share when children and older adults join, positive wellbeing can be created #UoNTeach#educ4750#SDG3
@jourdann___ Great idea! Have you viewed @ReachOut_AUS resources for student's wellbeing? There is a variety for the classroom ranging from managing anxiety to PTSD. Their website is worth having a look at. I'll leave the link here for you https://t.co/tsfKXZGX6f

@MissEmmaPearson So many wonderful strategies here! @MissEmmaPearson. To add to the list how about teaching student's traditional medicine that Indigenous cultures have used over time to keep healthy. They could potentially grow this in their own garden too! #UoNTeach#educ4750#SDG3
@MissGollan @BurleighHillPS This is wonderful to hear! I have been looking at #RootsOfEmpathy for my unit of health and wellbeing. Having a small insight into what different themes consist of makes me more excited to start exploring the program! Thank you for sharing @MissGollan #UoNTeach#educ4750#SDG3
@jourdann___ Hi there! If you are looking for a resource to introduce #SDG3 to your students, this small clip breaks it down nice and easy for children to understand. I'll be using in my unit too! 😃 https://t.co/4I1VZOfDDw
I love the concept behind this activity which student's can do daily! Another great way in promoting and improving students mental health and wellbeing. Thank you for sharing @mrsmmangos#UoNTeach#educ4750#SDG3
After reading one of my favourite books “Have You Filled a Bucket Today?”, We gave everyone a bucket and talked about how we can fill our friends buckets. Plenty of opportunities to communicate how others actions impact how we feel @Ms_B_Chen@tdsb@TDSB_ctownjps
What an awesome way to promote good mental health & wellbeing in students! I will definitely adopt this in my unit, to encourage students to work on their mental health outside of school and possibly influence their family and loved ones to do the same! #UoNTeach#educ4750#SDG3
2021 has been a year (hello Delta!). Between lockdowns, school and life in general it's easy to forget to take time out... so here's your reminder! This week try to take 10 each day to focus on self-care... #SwitchOfftober#MentalHealthMonth
I love this mindfulness exercise and will integrate it into my unit. Students can easily practice this exercise as it says using their finger or thinking more outside of the box with a geoboard and rubber bands! #UoNTeach#educ4750#SDG3
These resources shared by @ABCEducationAU will be super helpful to implement into my 'Mind Your Health' unit of work for Early Stage 1. It will be important for my student's to understand why they will frequently be visiting older adults. #UoNTeach#educ4750#SDG3#mindyourhealth
Using these Old People's Home for 4 Year Olds classroom resources, discover how relationships between elderly people and children have many significant and reciprocal benefits! https://t.co/E9ki4vksDS #OldPeoplesHomeAU@TheIntergenera1
When teaching Kindergarten I used Moovlee. Kindy were always excited to participate in one of the episodes! Episodes range from meditations, yoga and breath work. I highly recommend this resource! #UoNTeach#educ4750#SDG3

@CosmicKidsYoga was a resource I used with Kindergarten. As student's returned from lunch, I would play an episode and the benefits I saw were amazing! Student's were more calm and focused on activities for longer periods of time. I recommend it! #UoNTeach#educ4750#SDG3
