@Morrisons the free from freezer at my local branch has looked like this for over a month. I’ve asked staff and they just look blankly and say they don’t know. As a coeliac, it’s deflating to go in every time and see this. Is there a reason? Thanks in advanced!
Scotland’s teachers currently have 22.5 hours of class contact time, more than teachers in many other countries in the OECD. Class sizes in Scotland are amongst the highest in the OECD, meaning that Scottish teachers have responsibility for the learning, teaching, assessment and care of more pupils than the majority of their international counterparts.
Contractually, each week, teachers only have up to 7.5 hours of time set aside for planning and preparing learning and feedback for all of their pupils. Research has shown that teachers are working an additional 11 plus hours at home and this time is being used for planning and preparing learning - the Preparation and Correction component of their role.
A further 1.5 hours for preparation and correction will give teachers more time in the contractual working week to plan and prepare quality learning and feedback for pupils rather than them doing it in their own time.
There are 13 days left for COSLA and the Scottish Government to meaningfully and collegiately commit to addressing workload.
Seeking some ideas for implementing play in upper primary? I want to start with having half an hour of play every morning but I don’t quite know where to start #edutwitter
Applying for a teacher job can be soul destroying.
I’ve applied for 5 jobs so far and not a single interview. 1 school didn’t even acknowledge receiving my application!
It’s making the worry about September heighten. I want a job.
Just makes me wonder why I’m not wanted?
@Mr_Minchin@MrsLElliottPT1 I think this looks amazing! I was actually going to ask how you plan and assess these types of lessons? Would love to know more if you are both willing to share? I’d love to implement this!
I’m doing supply till the end of term in a school who has access to a beach for outdoor learning (mainly rock beach). I’ve never done anything like this before. Any advice or ideas for lessons or activities to do here? TIA ♥️ #edutwitter
Hello lovely educators in my phone. Is there a jamboard equivalent where I can set it up and children can add things using an IPad without logging in? Really love jamboard but logging in takes faaaaaar too long! Please help #edutwitter
This is not what World Book Day should be about. Why is the underlying message being taken over by expensive fancy dress? Let’s take it back to the real meaning - promoting a love of books and stories and the magical world they can open up for children of all ages.

@NUthmani Thank you! This really helped me a lot. I was told it was so, so clear how “inspirational”, “enthusiastic” and “in the know” I am in relation to learning and teaching but i still didn’t get it because of that comment. Honestly at a loss over what I’m to do?
How do people take interview feedback? One interview I was told I was too stiff and need to laugh and show my personality. The next I was told I was too bubbly and had to remember it’s a professional situation? It doesn’t make this tough journey easier 😩
@_missmartin22 Thank you! When I was in your position I kept telling myself to just wait it out and it will get better. I was lucky enough to have something every year up until now, 5 years in. It’s truly disheartening ♥️
