An agency just called to offer me TA work & then asked me to explain why I wouldn't be happy working as anything other than a teacher. Would you expect a doctor to work as a nurse? I doubt it.

......and take us to school each morning was a privilege I did not take for granted. Yes teachers get home at 4pm, yes they get summers "off", but teaching is a lifestyle not a career. You are never off the clock. A blessing and a curse, but it has always been for me. #teacher

My first NQT books gifted from my parents. Being raised in a household with a teacher as a parent has been a consistent lifetime reminder that teaching is probably the most underpaid job in the world. Seeing my dad work daily until 3am just so he could have dinner with us........
