@EngLangBlog One of my lovely colleagues went to the face-to-face launch & stressed how phenomenal it was. This, plus the @LexisPodcast episodes on Lang and Gender, have helped me plan some (hopefully) cracking lessons on more modern research regarding gender! Thank you so much!
Do you have white teenage sons?
Listen up.
I've been watching my boys' online behavior & noticed that social media and vloggers are actively laying groundwork in white teens to turn them into alt-right/white supremacists.
Here's how:
Publication day tomorrow! If you’d like a free signed copy, retweet this and I’ll pick one out at random at 9:00am UK time on Thursday 12th Oct! #BookGiveaway#YoureAllTalk https://t.co/lDf46KPirD
Some September stats here at Hardenhuish:
Library loans: 792 (715 of which were fiction)
Library lessons: 43
Books re-catalogued onto the system: 900 (up to 2218 in total)
And our most borrowed book was...Heartstopper Volume 1!
@lcpalmerpoet needs our stories of games students have played…
He knows mine well. An invisible ball thrown around my classroom - one that shifted size - but one that I wasn’t allowed to catch. Can’t decide if it’s the lowest point or highest point in my teaching career…
#teachers of #teachertwitter. Now that the end's in sight and there's room to breathe, I need your help.
What are the best games that your students played this year? The ones they knew the rules to and you didn't. The ones that made you laugh (especially if they shouldn't.)

@NooPuddles I'm currently building a TWIB SOW from scratch too! Happy to share resources & collaborate. Mine's for Y8 and we're using it as the basis of a recreative piece of writing, rather than a reading assessment.
A bumper book group meeting today, not only sampling our selection of contemporary novels for term 6 but also getting the opportunity to grab @FleurHitchcock and @simonjamesgreen titles in preparation for their Lit Fest visits next week!
Plea for help! I marked the Rosabel Language Paper a few years back but lost my standardised scripts for Q3. Anyone got them knocking about? @Team_English1
2 years in a row, I've had to pick up Y13s mid-way through the year & have never taught Child Language Acquisition from the start. This means I'm always wobbly with writing my own essays. I've written this response to AQA's Nov. '20 paper. Any advice? @EngLangBlog @Team_English1
@trainteachgrow @EngLangBlog @Team_English1 We ended up doing that yesterday afternoon, actually! Mine struggle to balance the two AOs and lean heavily on learned knowledge. Happy to share if you send me your email address ☺️
@JessNaylor8 @EngLangBlog @Team_English1 Of course you can! Send over your email address. I will have a look what I’ve got for Q5. Not written full responses as the majority of mine won’t even considered doing the written English question.
@42buckley @EngLangBlog @Team_English1 It’s really tricky isn’t it? I find deciphering the question & then analysing the dataset such a big task for 30 marks.
@MissWrightEngl1@AQAEnglish@Team_English1 We normally do a speech on a current issue that they spend a term’s worth of homework researching and writing about but feels like a big commitment in a year when our time is really limited!
Does anyone know if @AQAEnglish are returning to typical Spoken Language Endorsement requirements for this year? Do we need to record pieces? Do we need audiences bigger than one? Can’t see any confirmation anywhere! @Team_English1
