I'm SO grateful I gave birth in an era where nobody wore makeup or false lashes or got a blowout for labor and delivery

I hate that women feel this pressure. I was in 30 hours of labor with my first, almost entirely unmedicated. I can't imagine also worrying if I looked cute.

Yes, the wake-up call is that Nithya Raman didn't get NEARLY the support she deserved. The media was in love with Pratt like they were in love with Trump and our city will suffer as a result.

Nobody I know wants to keep Bass, but too many were swayed by Reality TV vibes.

🚨Big Update in the LA Mayor Race!

Karen Bass didn’t even come close to 50% and will now have to face Spencer Pratt in a November runoff.

Latest numbers:
• Karen Bass (D) 37%
• Spencer Pratt (R) 30%

This is a serious wake-up call for Democrats.

In one of the bluest cities in the country, voters are clearly fed up with years of skyrocketing crime, tent cities everywhere, and the same failed progressive policies that have made LA a complete dumpster fire!!

Even deep-blue Los Angeles is starting to push back.

This runoff is going to be ugly for the failing Democrat machine.

November is going to be interesting.

@jason_howerton Nithya didn't get nearly enough press. People didn't even know she was running when I would talk about her. Spencer Pratt has Trump factor (good for sound bites, a little scary in every other way).

It's sad, bc nobody wants Karen Bass, but Dems were too dumb not to vote Pratt.

Democrats need to understand...they are running against the media and MAGA at the same time.

Outside of Spencer Pratt being stupid, completely unfit and unqualified to be mayor, I think it’s strange how media is covering him as some success like LA has never seen. His numbers aren’t surprising. Rick Caruso got 35% of the vote before the runoff.

@tunatweets All you really need is the bassinet, diapers, basic clothes like sleepers and onesies, some very gentle butt wipes and cream, swaddle blankets, and a white noise machine. Oh and a car seat. Oh and a stroller. LOL OK maybe there is a lot 😅

@tunatweets Aww I get that. I will be curious if you feel differently when you have a baby. It's such a super-human, amazing thing to have done. It's OK to show the result! I feel like moms just look glowy and strong right after.

@tunatweets I did with my youngest (my others were born before social media). I love the first photo of my youngest, my husband and me. Of course, it was to a private account for friends and family only. People are excited to see the little families on baby's birth day!

@readamigraine It's not a problem what women choose - the problem is that we're pressured to do it.

IE the false eyelashes aren't a problem at all, it's the fact that society makes them feel they're inadequate without them.

And it's sad you didn't take all the photos you wanted bc of beauty.

@Fred_On_X Bro technology has changed and gotten WAY cheaper, relative to when it was invented.

That's not why homes are more expensive. Overall square footage and more bathrooms, maybe, but the average home in 1955 DID have multiple bathrooms. At the very least, a full and a half bath.
