I’ve always never been able to decide which is Britain’s most beautiful bit: North Devon or the Yorkshire Dales. But I’ve just spent the last three days in the Scottish Borders and now I have an answer. God almighty, they’re beautiful. Also, I bought some cows there.
@JohnSwinney Do you really think you could manage a newly created central bank, currency and cope with the markets and fiscal demands of a new nation with all its attendant risks, when you can't spot major fraud in your own accounts? Or is it 'No comment'?
A wonderful, action packed trip to London with fantastic S1 pupils from @Hawick_HS. You cannot underestimate the added value excursions like this bring to our young people. #learningbeyondtheclassroom#HEARD https://t.co/g01iSGK0mW

Books are for EVERY DAY, not just #WorldBookDay! And always remember, every reader has rights. We all enjoy reading different things in different ways. There's no such thing as 'good reading' and 'bad reading'. It's all reading, and it's all good! #literacy

Great interview with @TeresaCremin in the @tes about how to get children reading.
'We’re not getting close enough to what young people want to read. Are we talking to them about the kinds of text they are interested in & introducing them to a wide range?'

This wee one should’ve been at his first visit to Pittodrie today to watch @AberdeenFC after the 185 mile journey, but instead managed to spill tea over himself in the hotel room and ended up in hospital with first degree burns 😭 He’s gutted 😭 COYR
@AberdeenFC @CormackDavie Well, after missing the home game at the beginning of the month, Henry and papa made it today… As if the burn wasn’t bad enough! Surely he deserves a treat now?
I rarely owned books as a child, instead I went to my local library. It was there that I developed my love of reading, & later writing. It makes me sad that children might grow up never having a local library. All libraries need to be saved. When they go, they go forever.
If adults in school don’t make reading important children definitely won’t think it’s important. If adults don’t share the joy of a reading children definitely won’t see the joy in it either. #MakeReadingImportant#RfP
I always steer clear of three kinds of teachers: 1) those who always talk bad about their students 2) those who always talk bad about colleagues or admin and 3) those who always talk bad about the school. Attitudes are contagious and I don’t want to catch what they’ve got.
