And yet, none of *this* is appreciated by OFSTED, the govt. it’s all about technicalities, results, curriculum maps etc. You can’t touch this or judge this. It’s other worldly.
@peclassroom 8 - 4 lunchtimes, 2 after school and 2 before school. Similar numbers across department. To be honest it isn’t sustainable, but we change timetable every half term. We have included more than normal to split year groups.
Where do people recommend getting staff kit from? Is this something you pay for yourself? Does it come out of your PE budget? Does the school buy it for you? Thanks in advance!
@MrsNQC_PE We are thinking the same. We’d normally do “wacky races” for those that aren’t in the traditional events but will cancel that. I’m hoping for a fairly normal event just keeping the year groups more separate 🤞🏼🤞🏼
AQA A LEVEL PE HELP: has anyone got an example of the dance choreography write up just to get an idea of how it should look, please? #aqaalevelpe#alevelpe#aqape#PEhelp
Teach live lessons. Mark. Plan for the week following week. Set homework. Reply to emails. Make phone calls. Set assignments. Attend Meetings. Complete admin work. Check in on the team. Workout. Eat. Sleep. Practise self care. My head is going to explode 🤯
I’ve turned my Wednesday morning form times with my class to “pet wednesdays”, and we took it in turns to show off our pets and it was probably the most manic/ fun thing I’ve done all lockdown.
School decided yesterday to cut all live lessons from 1 hour to 45 mins, to allow screen breaks for all involved. This is a game changer. The whole lesson feels more purposeful and less stressful. I've offered optional reading tasks to the superkeen.
If you can do this, do it.
What has your school put in place to aid staff well-being?
I am on the well-being group and would love some ideas of what other schools have implemented. Share your ideas and thoughts!
PE teachers remember that your core PE lessons don’t need to be all singing all dancing. Encourage students to walk, run, cycle & get some fresh air as they will be spending a lot of time looking at a screen. Appreciate that is more PA than PE but vitally important at this time.
If I were school leader I'd be absolutely spitting that my Christmas was ruined by track and trace, setting up mass testing and trying to communicate ever changing messages from the DfE to parents.
What an absolute waste of everyone's time. 🤬
