The Federal Government of Somalia, under the leadership of President @HassanSMohamud, appears to lack clarity in its decision-making, often leaving its positions ambiguous.

This approach has contributed to an atmosphere of uncertainty, challenging the confidence and stability needed for the State and its people.

The responsibility of any blood shed in any district of #Gedo will be borne by @HassanSMohamud and @HamzaAbdiBarre .

Here is what they are doing:

1. They have sent a delegation led by security minister @Senfartaag to #Garbaharey whose primary mission is to destabilize #Gedo

2.They are dividing the #SNA along clan lines and promising some military officials ranks and administrative positions if they overthrow the legitimate administrations posted by #Jubaland.

3. They are using donor money meant for important projects to bribe officials affiliated to #Jubaland to defect to their side just like they did in Raaskaambooni.

The above actions have triggered massive mobilization of clan militias and counter offensive measures by #jubaland forces in Gedo and if not halted could lead to a similar confrontation like the one in #Raskaambooni which has left over 24000 families in need of humanitarian assistance and has led to loss of lives.

The people of #Gedo have had enough problems ranging from the effects of Elnino to the challenges posed by #AS and do not need a civil war.

The ongoing war in Ras Kambooni between Jubaland forces and the Somali National Army is a tragic and avoidable conflict that threatens the stability of the region.

Ras Kambooni, a peaceful town just two weeks ago, is now a battlefield due to the Federal Government's ill-conceived decision to deploy troops for political motives.

This decision has undermined the principle of mission command and diverted focus from the fight against Al-Shabaab, creating an environment that empowers the group and fuels insecurity.

President @HassanSMohamud and @HamzaAbdiBarre must take full responsibility for this bloodshed and its implications for peace and security in Jubaland. It is imperative to de-escalate the conflict and prioritize the greater national interest.

The continuous deployment of #SNA forces to territories free of Al-Shabaab on a daily basis, primarily to score political points, will have far-reaching and detrimental consequences.

This strategy risks undermining the reputation of the national army, which should be a unifying and protective force for all citizens. @HassanSMohamud must learn from history that using the military to oppress any segment of the Somali community has never yielded positive results or achieved intended objectives. Instead, such actions have historically led to the fragmentation of what was once a powerful national army along clan lines.

The government and the people of #Jubaland stand united now more than ever, resolute in their commitment to defend their rights and dignity against what they perceive as unlawful aggression.

Jubaland State has taken a decisive stance to suspend cooperation with the Federal Government of Somalia, citing rampant disregard for constitutional principles, federalism, and the rule of law.

The Federal Government has repeatedly demonstrated a troubling tendency to undermine the federal system, bypassing agreed processes to unilaterally amend constitutional and electoral laws, jeopardizing the legitimacy of Somalia’s institutions. This reckless approach has destabilized federal member states and created a governance vacuum in key areas.

Jubaland strongly condemns the misuse of national resources and the politicization of the Somali National Army, which is now deployed in peaceful areas like Ras Kamboni near the Kenya-Somalia border rather than focusing on the fight against Al-Shabaab, whose presence remains a grave threat only kilometers away from Mogadishu.

This deliberate misallocation of military forces raises serious concerns about the Federal Government’s priorities and vision for the nation.

Moreover, the Federal Government’s assault on independent institutions, including the judiciary and the houses of parliament, highlights a dangerous erosion of democratic governance.

This chaotic leadership, marked by corruption, tribal favoritism, and resource mismanagement, has deepened divisions and undermined Somalia’s stability at a time when unity and collaboration are urgently needed.

Jubaland remains committed to upholding peace, federalism, and constitutional governance. We call on Somalia’s international partners to intervene and ensure respect for federal principles, accountability, and the rebuilding of trust among the Somali people.
