sheekh, The name somalia is [out of place] & has no purpose of been in the official documents, between somaliland gov. and UK gov.
Sadia Bajaj a young woman from Mogadishu has been sentenced to three years in prison after peacefully protesting against the rising of fuel prices and criticising the government crackdown on dissent. She was tortured held for more than two months without a court hearing, and subjected to inhumane treatment while in detention.
Her sentence raises serious concerns about freedom of expression, due process and human rights. Criticising the government should never be treated as a crime.
I urge the Somali government, including former President @HassanSMohamud who is mandate ended 15/05/2026 to review Sadia Bajaj case respect her fundamental rights and release her she has been arrested solely for peacefully expressing her views I also call on international human rights organisations such as @hrw@amnestyusa and Somalia international partners @US2SOMALIA@UKinSomalia@francescaDM_EU to continue advocating for the protection of human rights and the rule of law in Somalia. Justice and accountability are fundamental for a democratic and peaceful future of Somalia.

The President of Jubbaland, President Ahmed Mohamed Islam, has expressed his support for Puntland against the illegal actions of the failed federal government whose mandate has expired. He speaks from experience, recalling how Jubbaland and its people have shown resilience and determination in defending their land and their rights during difficult times. We appreciate and thank the Jubbaland administration for its voice of support and their solidarity.
Now more than ever, it is up to the people of Puntland to stand together and protect the progress and sacrifices made over the past 30+ years. We have no place for opportunist politicians who are willing to destabilize their own land and people in exchange for the approval of a man whose divisive policies have left the country in a fragile state. Puntland jiritaankeeda ma ahan mana noqoniso bargaining chip.
We stand behind the government led by President Said Abdullahi Deni and hope that peace, unity, and stability prevail, bi’idnillah.

The 3-year prison sentence handed to Sacdiyo Moallim Ali (Sadiyo Bajaaj) is a blatant assault on justice, freedom of expression, and Somalia’s democratic future.
@HassanSMohamud’s government is silencing critics through fear, politically motivated prosecutions, and imprisonment instead of accountability.
This is the conduct of an insecure authoritarian government - not a government moving towards democracy.
Somalia’s international partners cannot continue funding state institutions while turning a blind eye to the erosion of fundamental rights. Silence today will only embolden further repression tomorrow.
We call on @EU_in_Somalia@francescaDM_EU@US2SOMALIA@StateDept@UKinSomalia to publicly condemn this sentence and press for the immediate protection of civil liberties and the rule of law in Somalia.
