Today I got to grow my knowledge as a math interventionist by attending a conference lead by professor Karen Karp. Now it’s my turn to continue the math pact and make math meaningful.
@MrsSMobley I know you talked about this in class as well. I think it’s ever more important in todays society that we are covered before implementing something in our classroom.
@MrsSMobley I love Seesaw! I have found it so easy to use and it’s nice to be able to send videos and pictures throughout the school year. I have found that either the parents love it or hate it which is interesting to me.
@ali_kamper Ali I like how you mentioned that it helps build community between the students and teacher. I think this is so relatable especially in the past few years while doing remote learning. What tools have you used with your students?
@HurtzTracie Hello Tracie I’ve never heard of this position. Our librarian is typically who works with our tech. So are you like the main coordinator for the whole district or just one school?
@MrsAppelFTC I also had the same opinion. I think as educators we need to think about how we can adapt our communication with students as technology changes. I think Twitter is a great way to communication and engage students.
@mmaannuueellaap Manuela, I was not aware of this hashtag but would be very interested in searching it. Were you aware of this hashtag before this assignment? If so what information have you found to be the most beneficial?
@JonTindall5 Jon, I also now see the potential for educational use. I used to have a personal Twitter but rarely used it. I do like how it provides a rolling resource for students.
@Starlam201 Rena is such a great educator to follow. I found that I walked away from her class with many new ideas and resources. Would you be able to comment her Twitter tag?
@peetzx3 I also decided to follow an educator that I met with in person. Her name is @ShannonKiebler. She is a math consultant that deals with K-5 instruction.
@CanHACKIt Congratulations on finishing up your degree this summer. I am also finishing up my Master degree this summer. What math classes do you teach at West?
"If students are only ever shown the right way, the right answer, then they can easily fall into the trap of regurgitating and often struggle to apply the concept in the context of story problems, tasks, etc." https://t.co/47T1EIFmY8
If we truly believe in developing student's growth mindsets... then how do you model for students that it's ok to make a mistake and that we actually LEARN from those mistakes? Put your ideas in the comments #Math#Math4All#ElementaryMathChat#GrowthMindset#ITeachMath
