I am currently supporting my Y11 tutor group as they consider their A Level options.
This is a big decision for them.
I shared these great graphics from @lizandmollie with my form. ๐โค๏ธ
today I sent out a pre-recorded assembly & encouraged students in the live lessons to light a candle this evening ๐ฏ Iโm looking forward to speaking to students tomorrow about the moving ceremony this evening #LightTheDarkness#HMD2021#empathy#responsibility
@CBealesTeach An idea from insta is to put inside an envelope with takeaway money in for next year as a surprise gift to yourself! Or a bottle of Prosecco!!
Picked up this tip from #edutwitter
Using a spare exam paper to jot down feedback points for each question as I mark. Helping me to record common misconceptions and mistakes. Highlighting where we need to focus our revision efforts next.
new classes, new classrooms, sanitising and a million and one things to remember BUT... my year 9 lesson was just WOW! Engaged, showing off prior knowledge and being curious historians - what a first lesson to the year! #BackToSchool#historyteacher ๐
@Kingyeates ๐ they will love you! Please tell them in the first ten minutes that you had also gone to the same school and show them a photo!! Good luck ๐
@MsLECHistory My favourite that I read on here was to talk to the individual on their own (outside the classroom) and speak softly and slowly and ask them what they had for breakfast! Catches them off guard and sets the tone for discussion on their behaviour.
another year complete & I have learnt new skills of teaching from home, recording my voice over a PowerPoint & holding live lessons! Thankfully I am still happy that I made the decision to relocate to Somerset - now time to enjoy my gifts from my HOD! #schoolsoutforsummer
So pleased I saw this post from @GreenwellMrs after seeing my timetable for September! So many room changes so *had* to order this straight away - plus Iโve selected the pretty one with stars on! ๐ #movingclassrooms#historyteacheronthemove
๐โโ๏ธMoving around school in September is going to be a shock to the system. This could be useful to anyone *everyone* who is on the move next academic year. Will put all my resources/ worksheets in at the start of the day ๐ #edutwitter#education#historyteacher
so glad I decided to attend the webinar today with @WilkesHistory - made lots of notes and took on board some great ideas for year 10s return in September #newideas#sharingideas#GCSEHistory โบ๏ธ
