@jmerritt_coy Yes! I reminded some middle schoolers today that this was a much easier strategy than “borrowing” for subtraction and they were completely baffled.
Or have a blank game board and have students pull cards with tasks on them. Highly recommend the 1-4 die though. @ThinkArtStuff is always my go-to for cool dice 🎲
Today in made-up games by yours truly: practicing teen numbers! Roll the cool die (to get a low number so the game lasts longer) and move your marker (dino) that many spaces. Read the number, show it in 2 ways.

You could absolutely do this with math at any level. Tell me your grade 8 kids wouldn’t love battling to see whose dino (or Pokemon, or ostrich…) gets to the finish line first. Each space could have an equation, a shape to name, an angle to find…or a combination!
@DonnaMarie1327 Definitely needs to be fleshed out but the 2 stream system with different entry points is far from ideal, and most of our grads aren’t coming out with more than basic conversational French currently. I got excited for what may be meaningful change 🙃
