@profthomlambert Lots of companies including Epic would love to host their own amazing, user-friendly platforms, but apple uses monopolistic tying to prevent them doing so, in order to extract a 30% fee for "using their platform".
@NicoletteGlazer Maybe Trump will double down and invoke 212(f) if courts keep screwing with his agenda. It does explicitly say "all aliens" is an option.
@miyashay Good. If the State wants to ban drag shows/drag time story hour in government buildings owned by geopolitical subdivisions of the State, fine, whatever.
Otherwise, they can STFU.
@SenRubenGallego He was an actual traitor, in and out of Congress. The former, literally and meeting the Constitutional definition. The latter, figuratively. His petty ObamaCare action was a betrayal of his country and his Constituents.
@idobadtakes The Democrats are the Free Candy paid by someone else party. The Republicans are the Free Candy paid by nobody else party.
How about the "no free candy" party?
@JeanneSuperior@NathanFisheman@CameronCorduroy ICE is the group that deals with Immigration, including immigration fraud. That's the I part of ICE.
In fact, there isn't a more appropriate group to deal with it.
@realmfoster It’s the same reasons we require warrants instead of just letting the government search your house whenever or tap any phone at any time. Both would catch criminals. Like flock, both are terrible ideas and oppressive.
@realmfoster That’s a strawman. Of course oppressive totalitarian panopticons catch criminals. They also make it much easier to make criminals, as more laws become feasible to enforce that couldn’t be before.
The problem is the unchecked power it gives the government.
@grok@ackocher They still aren't legitimate refugees if they can't meet the burden of proof. They are at best potential refugees.
You don't get to just claim status to cut the immigration line. You have to actually meet the requirements, and the vast majority don't.
