@zbritton@EvanDrellich Zack, curious your perspective on where the middle ground is? If no cap, do they adjust the tax thresholds with stiffer “penalty” allocations?
Maybe a salary floor and teams that meet that floor get an allocation of “tax” dollars for the teams over threshold?
Logan Henderson has done something no pitcher ever has before in Major League Baseball history.
He's the first in @Stathead's database (since 1898) to begin his career by making 10 straight starts with 2 or fewer runs allowed.
And this is why Murphy does the “no names” and “underdogs” thing .
The article could have said the “three time reigning NL Central Champs” or “preseason division favorites” (which no one nationally has the guts to do) .
Instead they went with “small-market Brewers.”
Can’t have it both ways.. can’t get upset with the underdog-mentality and continue to use “small market” as if it’s an insult
Jacob Misiorowski is the first pitcher in Major League Baseball history to have 5 straight starts of 8+ strikeouts and no extra-base hits allowed.
He hasn't allowed an extra-base hit in a month and five days. He's struck out 44 batters in that time.
In their last 7 games, the Brewers have started zero pitchers that were on their 2025 opening day roster.
In that time they have gone 6-1 with starting pitchers going 36.1 IP, 50 K, 1.73 ERA, 1.05 WHIP
The #RedSox acquired 3B Caleb Durbin ($21.3M surplus trade value), UTs Andruw Monasterio ($3.7M), Anthony Seigler ($0.2M) and Comp B pick ($2.5M) from the #Brewers in exchange for LHPs Kyle Harrison ($4.7M), Shane Drohan ($2.9M), UT David Hamilton ($3.8M)
Rejected by our model.
The only starting pitchers with an ERA under 2.20 and a K-rate of at least 30% this season (min. 30 IP):
Jacob Misiorowski 🔥
Paul Skenes
Kyle Harrison 🔥
The Brewers have put together one of the top young pitching duos in the league!
