We are working around the clock and with regional law enforcement partners regarding the recent surge of car break-ins happening across the metro.
#SLMPD officers do not decide who is held and who isn’t though — that’s a different part of the criminal justice system.

On May 24, 2025, 9-year-old Jordan Neal and his 10-year-old brother Richard Neal the third, were shot and killed in the 5600 block of Bircher. We believe the suspect was in this maroon Nissan shown in this video.
Jordan died that night, and Richard passed away from his injuries a few months later, just days after his 11th birthday.
We are looking for any information that can help identify the person responsible and vehicle used in this senseless act of violence and bring them to justice for the family of Jordan and Richard.
If you know anything, call the SLMPD Homicide Division at 314-444-5371 or CrimeStoppers at 866-371-TIPS (8477).
Today, FBI Co-Deputy Director Andrew Bailey announced the results of Operation Viper — a coordinated effort between federal, state, and local law enforcement made possible by a historic increase in FBI resources for St. Louis, secured last year with support from @SenEricSchmitt.
Operation Viper resulted in:
•91 arrests to include 45 state fugitives
•More than $310,000 in cash seized
•And significant quantities of illegal narcotics seized
The FBI and our law enforcement partners are aggressively targeting violent crime and restoring safety to St. Louis.
Seconds matter in an emergency.
Today, the SLMPD is announcing plans to enhance regional public safety like never before with the Aerial Response Unit. Leveraging drone technology would improve 911 response times, align the SLMPD with other regional law enforcement agencies that are exploring or implementing drone technology, support search and rescue operations during a disaster, and give officers the real-time information they need during emergencies.
The proposed purchase of six BRINC drones is powered by a partnership with the St. Louis Police Foundation and its donors.
Today, the #SLMPD is announcing one of the most significant technological advancements in our department's modern history, with support from the St. Louis Police Foundation. #STL
