Cut through all the noise of job revisions and seasonal adjustments and look at prime age epop for May. We are very close to 25-year highs and it has been that way since 2023.
If you want to be optimistic - remember that the U.S. conceded Vietnam and still won the Cold War - or Eisenhower tried to appease the Arab world, but Israel went on to win the Six-Day War.
If you want to be pessimistic, this certainly looks like “peace in our time.”

Rising real net worth for people over their lifetime is par for the course. The typical Baby Boomer is indeed doing better than prior generations at the same age.
But, so too is the typical Millennial and Gen-Xer.
@MiltonFriedmanW This is mostly false. Replacement rates much higher for low lifetime earners actually. Life expectancy does undo some of this but it’s still pretty flat. And that’s just the retirement part of the program. Disability part is very progressive.
