Eid ul Adha is a reminder that nothing should be loved more than Allah. Not a person. Not your desires. Not this dunya. Because the story of sacrifice was never just about ibrahim[AS] and ismael[AS], it's also about us and what we're willing to give up for Allah.
Islam is the only religion that pulls this off, gathering people from every ethnicity, culture and country in one spot, all dressed the same. especially in Muzdalifah, you can’t even tell who’s rich or poor. going against all this has done the world dirty.
how can we forget the prophet’s pbuh last sermon about brotherhood… he opposed racism, colorism, tribalism, ethnocentrism, and warned that no one is superior to another. yet somehow we still become what he stood against.
I respect ex-Muslims and their trauma but at a time when Muslims are getting hatecrimed everywhere it feels very counterproductive and sinister to say Islamophobia isn’t real.
