The Team at Mitton Manor are devastated to hear the sad news of Nigelโs passing @TheMontyDon. He had a screen presence humans can train for years to attain and will be missed by a great many households ๐ our love to Nellie & Patty and all of your family at this time ๐
Sorry @clivenichols weโre also a little bit excited about this @PerennialGRBS#calendar2020 - we canโt think why ๐๐๐ถ Ladies (and select Gents), youโre welcome ๐
Naked Gardening ๐ We just got ourselves a mention on @BBCRadio2 with the one and only @ZoeTheBall ๐ป ThankYOU! ๐ Donโt forget to pick up your grubby copy of the most in-demand calendar- just hop onto the @PerennialGRBS website ~ itโs the perfect stocking filler ๐
Good morning friends & followers! #HappyTuesday to all. We much prefer #frostymornings to the milder ones weโve had this week, do you? Although, we must admit, itโs been quite nice having an extra 5mins in bed without having to defrost the car ๐โ๏ธ have a good day! ๐
Good morning friends & followers! #happyMonday to all. We received a very wonderful early #Christmas gift in the post on Saturday morning - weโre very shocked and delighted to be on the cover of it! This is @clivenichols 2020 calendar, which is bursting with equisite garden snaps
Question: can you ever have enough #frost photos? โ๏ธ we think not (but do please tell us if you donโt agree)! How is everyoneโs #ChristmasCountdown going so far?
โAll that is gold does not glitter,
Not all those who wander are lost;
The old that is strong does not wither,
Deep roots are not reached by the frost.โ

Good morning and #happyTuesday friends & followers! Who else is loving the #frostymornings weโre having recently? โ๏ธ we think it gives a lovely new perspective to everything in the garden. Stay safe though, itโs slippy underfoot ๐ฅถ
Happy #Friday friends & followers! Todayโs #NationalTreeWeek ft is our #EnglishYew - or Taxus baccata - of which there are many in different forms around Mitton Manor gardens. In this @clivenichols photo it is in ornamental topiary form but we also have dense yew hedges too ๐ณ
The first of our #NationalTreeWeek trees is our #Hornbeam. Planted in 2001 these stilted Carpinus betulus will live on at Mitton Manor for up to 300 years! We have used a pair of pleached hedges to create 'Hornbeam Avenue'. The second photo shows how our Hornbeam looks now ๐
Hello friends & followers! Todayโs #NationalTreeWeek ft our #QuercusIlex (also know as Holm Oak). Their wood has been used since ancient times to construct the likes of pillars, tools and wagons to wine casks ๐ณ here we enjoy the sound a breeze makes through their leaves ๐
Day three of #NationalTreeWeek brings the majestic Mitton Manor #CherryTrees (Prunus Kanzan) - the undisputed stars of the show in Spring! Whilst we don't expect these double flowering cherries to live beyond 25 years, their beauty makes them well worth planting ๐ธ๐ณ
Our next #NationalTreeWeek feature is our #SilverBirch. A symbol of purity, Silver Birch provide food and habitat for 300+ insect species and hole-nesting birds often next in the trunks. Tolerant of a range of temperatures, these versatile trees grow from Spain to Lapland! ๐ณ
