Les rumeurs selon lesquelles ils risquent d'en envoyer à nouveau devraient nous alerter sur la réponse à apporter.

L'Europe ne doit pas accepter que la pire dictature de la Terre entraîne ses troupes en Ukraine. Et si nous ne voulons pas envoyer nous-même nos soldats pour aider à défendre l'Ukraine, alors donnons-leur au moins les moyens de se défendre efficacement et levons les restrictions inutiles.

C'est un échec moral profond pour l'Europe que de laisser faire la Russie et la Corée du Nord.

APPLEBAUM: There’s a long debate about whether Ukraine should be in NATO. It’s a moot point.

I would much rather see new set of security alliances that automatically include Ukraine.

Because Ukraine has the best military technology now, maybe in the world, definitely in Europe.

We should begin developing links with Ukraine, Ukrainian military technology, not focus solely on NATO.

Maybe, you know, that’s even healthier. Maybe it was always a bad idea to focus solely on NATO.

After all, it’s an alliance that was created at a different time, with different ideas and different geopolitics.

Think about this not as if we’re breaking up with America, hating Americans, and going home.

Rather, let’s keep what we have and also begin to build new institutions and new relationships.

Being a little more imaginative and creative about what security looks like would be good for everybody.

Islamic Republic in Iran hangs 24-Year-old woman who defended herself from sexual assault

Yesterday the regime executed Marziyeh Neyri yesterday, a young woman who was forced into marriage at age 17 and hanged for fighting back against her attacker.

Marziyeh was 18 years old when her husband's associate attempted to sexually assault her in her own home, in front of her husband. She grabbed a kitchen knife to defend herself. Her husband died in the struggle.

She told the court she had been repeatedly assaulted by her husband's associates before that day. Iran's courts didn't care.

The regime rejected her self-defense claim. Her attacker, who survived, took the stand and called her a murderer. The court believed him over her.

She was sentenced to death.

No clemency. No mercy. The sentence was carried out at Chubindar Prison in Qazvin.

Marziyeh Neyri never had a chance. Forced into marriage as a child under Iran's Islamic laws, she spent the few years of her adult life in a courtroom, fighting for her life after defending it.

She lost.

This is the Sharia Laws in Islamic Republic of Iran where a woman can be hanged for surviving.
