Exciting updates from Chetambe, #Kenya! 🇰🇪 In our August '23 MAEASaM fieldwork, we conducted transect walks to assess artifact density and locate nearly destroyed 19th-century #forts. We used #ODK for data recording. Stay tuned for more archaeological insights! #museumsofkenya
After the EA regional workshop, the team headed to Bungoma County on the slopes of Mt Elgon. They climbed hills, walked the fields and crawled into caves in search of heritage sites that tell the history of the Bukusu people. More details on this expedition coming soon!
The second day of the The Eastern African Workshop was held at the #museumsofkenya, where the attendees visited the #archaeology section to view archival records, and later visited the hominid vault for a close-up experience with #turkanaboy. What an exhilarating week that was!
