Stop frying your brain with endless short form content. Read long, complicated, books. Especially novels. Cultivate the ability to think deeply. To focus for long periods. Stare into space and enjoy boredom. Do tasks without any media playing in the background. Resist the urge to reach for your phone every time you feel uncomfortable. Get used to being with uncomfortable emotions instead. Wonder and think about the questions you have instead of asking AI. Become deeply present with everyone around you. Your ability to focus, pay attention, to think deeply, is one of your most valuable assets. Reclaim the immense beauty of experiencing your life directly instead of living it through a screen.

Amanda is an English name. Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie is the first person with the name Chimamanda, no one older than her has that name. She just made an Igbo name out of her English baptismal name Amanda.
Both options are legal and valid in Namibia. But there are hidden long term costs with bank managed wills that most people only discover after a loved one has passed, which is the worst possible time to find out.
The executor fee is the biggest issue. Namibian law allows executors to charge up to 3.5% of the gross estate value. Banks almost always charge the maximum and rarely negotiate, even for simple estates where the actual work does not justify that cost. A private lawyer, on the other hand, will often negotiate this fee at the time of drafting.
Beyond the fee, families regularly report that bank executors are slow. Because trust divisions manage hundreds of files simultaneously, your family's case becomes a number in a queue. Getting a simple certificate of balance can take months. If the bank's trust division is in Windhoek and your family is elsewhere, communication becomes impersonal and difficult at an already painful time.
There is also a practical problem that most people do not anticipate. If your original will is stored in a bank vault and you pass away, your family may need a High Court order just to retrieve it and begin the probate process. That is an expensive and time consuming start to an already difficult period.
Bank wills also tend to follow standard templates. They work for simple estates but struggle with Namibian specific complexities, protecting inheritance from the Guardian's Fund, managing communal or family land rights, or setting up a testamentary trust to ensure your children's money is managed by someone you actually trust rather than a government institution.
A lawyer costs money upfront, typically a few thousand Namibia dollars, but that cost is transparent and negotiable. You also get bespoke advice tailored to your actual situation, negotiated executor fees locked in at drafting, and a professional who is personally accountable to you through the Law Society of Namibia. @Nalofoxy I hope this is helpful.
Zinc oxide sunscreen is known to leave a white cast on darker skin tones, discouraging use and increasing skin cancer risks. Black scientist AJ Addae’s breakthrough formula protects without the chalky residue while delivering UV absorption comparable to existing products. Innovation like this ensures EVERYONE can protect themselves from the sun's damaging rays and skin cancer.

To be fair, it's not the women alone it's the whole culture/tradition of it all. My nephew gets teased and humiliated by folks at school and sometimes from the village when they find out that he is using his mom's surname. Its unfortunate really.
Ovawambo women and their obsession with a child taking their father’s surname is beyond me.
The man ran away while you were pregnant. Said the child is not his and he wants nothing to do with them. You give birth and now you’re sitting with a child that doesn’t have a birth…
@Ndonga_Phoenix To be fair, you dont HAVE to be treated in the exaxt one you work in. You could go to other public hospitals for treatment if thats the issue.
I used to outrightly reject them until one time , I had enough .
There was this professor I met in my final year , he wanted me to be his sugar baby and he kept pestering my life. So I agreed.
That same day , he started making arrangements to meet with me and I told him I would get back to him.
I called him back and told him I needed to pay my school fees , my house rent and stock up my house . Baba started to stammer . “All of this in one day?” . I said yes , that it just happened like that . He ended the call .
I called him back and told him I needed to pay the fees that day and my project fee too , I needed to make a deposit . Also , I needed to upgrade my business and I was about to order for goods. The man shouted “ Come, don’t you have parents?”. I said “ my parents don’t want to sleep with me sir” . I was about to tell him that I needed a dog , those fine english ones when he hung up .
I called him back. He screamed at me to stop disturbing him and hung up . I called him five more times before he finally blocked me . I don’t even know what I did wrong!
