Pakistan and Asim Munir are now the undisputed guardians of Sunni Islam. And therefore its main face in Washington DC. The only Islamic state with nuclear weapons, it now extends a powerful nuclear umbrella over other Sunni places like Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait and perhaps even Turkey. Asim Munir’s influence in US is now powered by Qatari and Saudi Arabian channels in DC. Anything Pakistan wants done in DC is now done by Qatari and Saudi Arabian channels. His role as “mediator” in US Iran conflict was a natural outcome of the fact that the American military security umbrella over the Middle East for last 50 years was largely powered by our reliance on Pakistan. Ex: American General Kurilla of US Central Command in Qatar was best friends with Munir and leveraged Pakistani intelligence and even troops (in a different uniform) when it came to minor conflicts in the Middle East. Through General Kurilla (close to White House) Munir now has special access to White House. Anything Munir wants in DC, the Saudis and the Qataris deliver with a smile. For Sunni Islam the biggest enemy is Shia Islam (ie Iran ). Not America. For now, Sunni Islam and Shia Islam have come together in an uncomfortable equilibrium as they deal with what they see as the great Satan Trump. A powerful Satan. According to Islamic law when the enemy is this powerful you pause your Jihad (Islamic struggle to establish the rule of one God across the world ) and collaborate as one.

India needs to understand that Pakistan now is representing the security of all of Sunni Middle East in Washington DC. Pakistan’s nuclear umbrella over the Middle East is owned by General Munir not Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif. Sharif is a figure head. For optics, he will sign all the ceasefire paperwork, but he’s really just a puppet of Munir.

This budget should make your blood boil. Let me show you why.

Pakistan's interest payments this year: Rs. 8,054 billion.

Pakistan's entire development budget, roads, dams, hospitals, schools, everything: Rs. 1,000 billion.

Eight rupees go to debt service for every one rupee invested in this country. This is not a budget. This is a confession.

Understand what this debt is. It was not borrowed to build Pakistan. Over the years, it was borrowed by corrupt politicians who were simultaneously busy building their own empires, inside and outside of Pakistan.

Now you and I are paying interest on their corruption.

Government will borrow another Rs. 7,000 billion on top of everything that already exists.
Borrow to pay interest on previous borrowing.

This is a debt trap and we are in it.

And they took out full page newspaper adverts at your expense to celebrate it.

Now let's look at Bangladesh. Same region. Same starting point. Very different choices.

Bangladesh total budget: $76 billion. Pakistan: $60 billion.

Bangladesh development spending: $24 billion. Pakistan: $3.6 billion.

Bangladesh interest payments: $10.4 billion. Pakistan: $29 billion.

Bangladesh education budget: $6.9 billion. Pakistan, federal and all four provinces combined: $3.5 billion.

They have 83 million fewer people than us and still spend twice as much educating them.

Bangladesh defence: $3.5 billion. Pakistan defence: $10.8 billion.

We spend 3 times more on defence than Bangladesh and our interest bill is 8 times their entire defence budget.

They are spending 6.5 times more on building their country than we are. And they are paying a third of what we pay in interest.

Now look at what this has done to our people.

Pakistan's GDP and Bangladesh's GDP are almost identical, around $450 billion each.
But Pakistan has 83 million more people.

Bangladesh's income/person: $2,621.
Pakistan: $1,901.
There taka is 122/dollar
Our Rs is 278/dollar

Poverty in Pakistan: 44.7%.
Poverty in Bangladesh: 5.9%.

Literacy in Pakistan: 60% (doubtful)
Literacy in Bangladesh: 77%

Once again our interest payments:
Rs. 8,054 billion.
Our defence budget: Rs. 3,000 billion. Interest payments are 2.7 times the defence budget.

This is far more damning than anything else!

I want to say something clearly. If this trajectory is not broken in the next two to three years, the security of this country will become unaffordable.

This is not a political statement.
This is basic maths.

These numbers are not accidental.
This is what elite capture looks like.

یعنی بین الاقوامی منڈی سے پاکستان کو ایک لیٹر تیل 152.66 روپے کا مل رہا ہے ۔
ہم اس پر زیادہ سے زیادہ دوسرے اخراجات ڈال کر فرض کرلیتے ہیں ۔ کہ پٹرل پمپ میں یہ تیل 200 روپے فی لیٹر پڑ رہا ہے ۔
اور عوام کو 381 روپے میں بیچا جارہا ہے ۔ یعنی ہر لیٹر پر حکومت کے خزانے میں 181 روپے جمع ہورہے ہیں ۔
سرکاری اعداد وشمار کے مطابق پاکستان میں روزانہ کم و بیش سات کروڑ لیٹر تیل استعمال ہوتا ہے ۔
اب اگر ہم سات کروڑ کو 181 سے ضرب دینگے ۔ تو ہمارے پاس وہ رقم آجائے گی ۔ جو صرف تیل کی مد میں روزانہ عوام کی جیب سے ٹیکس کی شکل میں سرکاری خزانے میں جارہی ہے ۔
70000000 × 181 = 12670000000
یعنی صرف تیل کی مد میں موجود وفاقی حکومت عوام کی جیب سے روزانہ تقریبا بارہ ارب 67 کروڑ نکال رہی ہے ۔

Russia vs Europe – Pakistan’s policy choices
Pakistan’s policy of underestimating Europe- a long term strategic and economic partner- while getting closer to Russia, a historical ally of India, is difficult to comprehend.
It is a fact that Pakistan’s relations with Europe are often underestimated and have received less focus and attention in media and popular narratives compared to Islamabad’s relations with the United States, China or Gulf states.
However, ignoring Europe while attempting to get closer to Russia, Europe’s arch rival, is widely seen as a questionable and overtly bad policy. It has been observed that European nations are increasingly uneasy and visibly perterbed over Pakistan’s growing arrogance and disregard for long-standing institutional, political, and economic ties with Europe built over decades; while making new love affairs with Russia.
During my interactions, many European diplomats raise a simple question: why is Pakistan so eager to engage more closely with Russia while seemingly overlooking European sensitivities and interests? And what concrete benefits does Pakistan currently gain, or expect to gain in the near future from Russia?
Russia remains one of India’s closest strategic partners and is unlikely to prioritize Pakistan over India. Moscow has long-standing strategic, defence, and economic relations with India from the Soviet era. Currently, India is one of Russia’s largest defence partners; a major portion of India’s military hardware is Russian-origin. Both countries also maintain institutionalised cooperation in nuclear energy, defence production, space, energy, and advanced weapons systems.
Russia has neither supported Pakistan at international forums nor extended meaningful trade or economic preference on a comparable scale.
It is also a fact that economically, diplomatically, and institutionally, Europe remains one of Pakistan’s most important external partners for decades. Europe is a major destination for Pakistani exports, supported by GSP+ access, large annual remittances from an influential diaspora, development and institutional assistance and cooperation in security and counter-terrorism.
However, Europe often appears secondary in Pakistan’s strategic narrative.
Against this backdrop, Pakistan’s growing closeness to Russia, while European concerns remain high, is increasingly seen as a source of concern and discomfort in European capitals

2. UAE is totally anti-Iran, and Iran is anti-UAE now.

4. Israel is friends with UAE, and Iran is anti-Israel
5. Iran is not being defeated, and may soon capture the dynamics of whole region

7. US may, after some more fireworks, leave Hormuz and Gulf region for good (practically).
8. Trump's China visit (May 2026) is a harbinger of many things to come. (most China-positive)
9. Iran's war with UAE and Israel will continue for years
10. India, under Modi, won't leave UAE, and never ever Israel. And will accept anything US throws at it.
11. Iran is determined to build greater Iran, where entire Gulf is subjugated (friendly) to it and not the US (which may well leave the region altogether eventually)
12. Israel may not even exist if Iran has its way, but no way Iran won't exist (as proven in past 75 days, and over 4000 years)
13. China's and Russia's support to Iran will only get stronger by the day
14. India will never allow BRICS and other fora to ever pass any motion against Israel, thereby leading to greater fracturing (against India)

And, India is firmly in the UAE-Israel-USA camp. Not as a neutral observer, or a general friend, as a committed partner through and through.

Whatever happens from now, will be a result of these conscious decisions.

These men and women did not waste their years over there. They came back with calloused hands, sharp eyes, and money in their pockets. They know how the world really works. They have tasted modern systems, deadlines that mean something, quality that actually sells. Stop seeing them as mouths to feed. Start seeing them as fuel. Pure dynamite for a new Pakistan.
Imagine it. Karachi and Lahore and Islamabad humming with tech workshops where our own boys and girls build software for the whole region instead of begging for outsourcing scraps. Real construction crews led by men who built Dubai turning CPEC dreams into actual cities that work. Doctors opening clinics that do not fall apart in the first monsoon. Factories making real things again because the mechanical engineers who fixed oil rigs are now fixing our own machines and teaching the next generation.
This is not fantasy. India did it with their IT crowd. China pulled its people back and built an industrial monster. Even smaller countries have turned returning workers into engines of growth. Why do we think we are cursed to be different? We are not. We have the land, the young population, the ports, the rivers, the cotton fields, and now we can have the skilled blood flowing back into the veins.
You must make it easy for them. Cut the red tape so a man can start a business in days, not years. Give them cheap land and real loans, not promises. Build special zones where they can experiment and fail and rise again without some inspector sucking their blood. Protect them from the old games of bribery and politics. Give them the freedom to breathe and create.
Yes, there will be pain at first. Remittances may dip. Some will grumble. But the long blood of a nation is worth more than short-term dollars. A real economy that grows from our own soil, our own hands, our own brains, that is worth everything. An indigenous economy that stands tall instead of forever stretching its hand out like a beggar.
This is the turning point. History is watching. Do not write another report. Do not hold another meeting. Act like men who believe in their own country. Call them home. Give them the soil and the tools. And then stand back and watch Pakistan finally wake up roaring.

Pakistan may be accidentally building one of the world’s first decentralised #solar economies. The craziest part? Real scale barely shows in official stats. Imported 51.5 GW solar panels by late 2025—nearly = entire grid. Yet registered net-metered rooftop solar just 5.3–6.8 GW.

What makes this story so extraordinary is the speed.

In only a few years, Pakistan appears to have gone from a relatively minor solar market to potentially sourcing around a quarter of its electricity from solar once distributed generation is included.

The massive gap between imported panels and officially registered systems strongly suggests tens of gigawatts are now operating quietly on homes, farms, factories and businesses across the country.

This increasingly looks less like a normal energy transition and more like large-scale consumer-led grid defection.

And economics is driving nearly all of it.

Electricity tariffs surged. Diesel prices climbed. Blackouts remained common. Meanwhile ultra-cheap Chinese solar panels and falling battery prices made self-generation economically irresistible.
So millions effectively made the same calculation:

Generate your own power, or remain trapped inside an expensive and unstable system.

Once solar becomes cheaper than the grid itself, adoption can move faster than governments, utilities and even official statistics can keep up with.

This isn’t gradual transition by any stretch. It may ultimately become a blueprint for how energy-poor nations break free from legacy old-world energy systems dominated by fossil fuels and increasingly expensive centralised power.

In the first quarter of 2026, more than a million e-Bikes have already been sold across Pakistan and the numbers are going up continuously.

Why is it happening?

With the fuel prices increasing in the country, people are choosing to go for e-Bikes as it provides cheaper rides.

While petrol bikes cost around 10 Rs per kilometer, e-Bikes' running cost is around Rs. 1 per KM. That is a game changer for Pakistani commuters.

Over 16 million households in Pakistan have rooftop solar panels, so running cost of e-Bikes gets even more less with the use of solar-power.

Pakistani govt, specially in Pakistan's Punjab region, is promoting e-Bikes by giving subsidies and incentives.

According to a research, within next five years, electric bikes are expected to capture around 70% of two-wheeler market in Pakistan.

As more and more companies enter in the EV market, Pakistan is set to get even more e-Bikes on the roads.
