What experience did Barack Obama, a first-term Senator from Illinois, have in world affairs when he became President of the most powerful country on earth, while it was caught up in multiple global issues? For that matter, how much international exposure did the CM of Gujarat have to manage India’s International relationships? @RahulGandhi has led a national party for a dozen years. It was nearly a decade ago. DK sir was Karnataka’s Power Minister, and we were on a tour near Ramanagara district. Suddenly, he said he wanted me to see his mulberry farm. DK sir has a deep passion for agriculture and sericulture. He took me to his wonderful farm and walked me through the entire process of silk manufacturing with remarkable depth and mastery.

Today, as we drove from HAL airport to Raj Bhavan for his oath-taking, I noticed his beautiful silk attire and asked if it was from his own farm and factory. He laughed - and had a look that said, “you remember.” 😄

Rarely does politics produce a leader like DK Shivakumar. Rarely does a person pour every waking hour into the pursuit of their calling with such relentless dedication. DK sir means different things to different people, but to me, he is someone I observed for years, learning the nuances of politics and society from him. He always offered a unique insight drawn from vast experience, and each one taught you something substantial. My early years in politics were spent travelling the length and breadth of Karnataka with him, and it was an enormously enriching experience.

His loyalty to the party is legendary. He always says, “I was born a Congressman and I will die a Congressman.” Having closely witnessed the pressure the BJP put on him, sending him to jail and tormenting his family, very few men could have survived it, let alone emerged stronger.

In private moments of tremendous pressure, he would tell us, “My blood is Congress. I will never betray my party. Sonia ji is like my mother, I will never leave Congress, no matter what.” That is the depth of love that he carries, especially for the Gandhi family.

Today, his long-cherished dream of becoming Chief Minister has become reality. Knowing him as I do, I am absolutely certain he will be among the finest CMs my state has ever seen. There is no task he cannot accomplish once his mind is set and with a strong team, he will deliver good governance.

Six years ago, fate and opportunity brought me to Delhi. DK sir had just become KPCC President and would often discuss his plans and strategies for winning the 2023 Karnataka election. When I told him I had been called to Delhi, he asked me to come see him. I went to his house, as always, late at night. He said he was very happy for me, and that from that day forward, “You are not my man. You are my leader’s man”. 😄

DK sir, we are happy to see you as Chief Minister. May Karnataka rise under your leadership, and may we win the 2028 election with the biggest majority yet. Much love.

1. पेट्रोल-डीजल का उपयोग कम करें अनावश्यक वाहन उपयोग से बचें
- कारण: भारत को कच्चे तेल के आयात के लिए बड़ी मात्रा में विदेशी मुद्रा खर्च करनी पड़ती है

सर मोदी जी, आज जो आप सोमनाथ गए, उसमें कितना पेट्रोल-डीजल खर्च हुआ? आप उदाहरण प्रस्तुत तो करिए, हम अवश्य उसका अनुसरण करेंगे। आपकी सरकार की योजनाओं, हेलिकॉप्टर यात्राओं, रैली और विदेशी दौरों का खर्च तो जनता के ऊपर है, फिर जनता से “बचत” का उपदेश क्यों?

2. एक साल तक विदेश यात्रा न करें
- PM ने कहा: संकट के समय विदेश यात्रा, विदेशी शादियाँ और छुट्टियाँ कम से कम एक साल के लिए टाल दें। देश में ही घूमें।
- कारण: विदेश यात्रा से विदेशी मुद्रा खर्च होती है।

सर मोदी जी, जनता से एक साल तक विदेश यात्रा न करने की अपील कर रहे हैं, लेकिन आप स्वयं हर महीने विदेश दौरे पर जाते हैं — G20, QUAD, बिलेटरल मीटिंग्स, UN आदि।

आपके मंत्री, सांसद और BJP नेता भी विदेशी दौरों, सम्मेलनों और फैमिली ट्रिप्स पर लगातार घूम रहे हैं। सरकारी खर्चे पर हवाई जहाज, सुरक्षा और होटल का बिल तो टैक्सपेयर का है। पहले अपने और अपने मंत्रिमंडल के अनावश्यक विदेशी दौरों पर रोक लगाइए, फिर जनता से “देशभक्ति” का उपदेश दीजिए।

3. इलेक्ट्रॉनिक वाहन/बैटरी वाहन बढ़ाएँ
- कारण: युद्ध के समय ईंधन के दाम वैश्विक स्तर पर बढ़ रहे हैं, इसलिए बैटरी से चलने वाले वाहनों का उपयोग बढ़ाने की सलाह दी जा रही है

सर मोदी जी, हम तो चाहते हैं EV ही खरीदें, मगर क्या सरकार गंभीर है EV के प्रति? चार्जिंग स्टेशन तक नहीं हैं EV के लिए। बैटरी की कीमतें ऊंची, इंश्योरेंस महंगा, सर्विस सेंटर गिने-चुने। आपकी सरकार सिर्फ स्कीम के नाम पर सब्सिडी बांट रही है, लेकिन इंफ्रास्ट्रक्चर और लोकल मैन्युफैक्चरिंग पर ठोस काम कहाँ है? पहले इंफ्रा बनाइए, फिर जनता से EV अपनाने की अपील कीजिए।

4. एक साल तक सोना न खरीदें PM ने कहा: “देशहित में हमें यह तय करना होगा कि साल भर देश में कोई कार्यक्रम हो। हम सोना नहीं खरीदेंगे। हम सोना नहीं दान करेंगे”
- कारण: सोने की खरीद में विदेशी मुद्रा बहुत अधिक खर्च होती है

सर मोदी जी, सोने पर एक साल का बैन तो लगा दिया, लेकिन आपकी सरकार ने गोल्ड मोनेटाइजेशन स्कीम, सोवरेन गोल्ड बॉन्ड और मेक इन इंडिया के नाम पर सोने का इतना प्रचार क्यों किया?

शादियों, त्योहारों और संस्कृति में सोना देना हमारी परंपरा का हिस्सा है। गरीब किसान-मजदूर तो सोने में ही अपनी बचत रखते हैं। आप पहले अपने मंत्रियों, सांसदों और पार्टी कार्यक्रमों में सोने के गहने-जेवर पहनने वालों को रोकिए, फिर जनता से अपील कीजिए।

5. खाद्य तेल कम इस्तेमाल करें

- कारण: हर परिवार अगर थोड़ा कम करे तो विदेशी मुद्रा भंडार की सेहत सुधरेगी

सर मोदी जी, खाद्य तेल (खाने का तेल) कम करने की सलाह दे रहे हैं, लेकिन आपके राज में तो तेल की कीमतें पहले ही आसमान छू रही हैं। महंगाई से जनता पहले ही परेशान है, रसोई का बजट कम हो रहा है। लोग पहले ही कम तेल में सब्जी बनाकर काम चला रहे हैं। अब और कम करने को कह रहे हैं?
अगर आयात कम करना है तो घरेलू तिलहन उत्पादन बढ़ाइए, किसानों को सही MSP दीजिए, न कि हर परिवार से “थोड़ा कम खाओ” कहकर देशभक्ति का ठेका थोपिए।

6. रासायनिक उर्वरक आधे करें: प्राकृतिक खेती की ओर बढ़ें

सर मोदी जी: रासायनिक उर्वरक आधा करने और प्राकृतिक खेती अपनाने की बात कर रहे हैं, लेकिन किसान पहले से ही उर्वरक की कमी, महंगाई और फसल नुकसान से जूझ रहे हैं।
प्राकृतिक खेती के लिए बीज, प्रशिक्षण, सब्सिडी और मार्केटिंग कहाँ है? अचानक आधा उर्वरक काट दिया तो फसलें घट जाएंगी, आय कम होगी, कर्ज बढ़ेगा। आपकी सरकार ने तीन कृषि कानूनों से किसानों को पहले ही आंदोलन करने पर मजबूर किया था। अब ये नया प्रयोग किसानों की जेब और खेत दोनों को सूखा देने वाला नहीं है क्या?

(US ट्रेड एग्रीमेंट में फर्टिलाइजर इनपुट्स जैसे phosphate rock और potash पर कुछ छूट की बात है, लेकिन मुख्य रूप से US से तैयार रासायनिक उर्वरक (DAP/urea) का बड़ा आयात नहीं बढ़ रहा। फिर भी, जब आप प्राकृतिक खेती की बात कर रहे हैं तो US के साथ डील में केमिकल-आधारित agri इनपुट्स को बढ़ावा देने का विरोधाभास क्यों?) @GoIShadow
