@teachergoals According to auto fill, my teaching philosophy is a great idea for the students to teach in the class of class and then we will be able to make a teacher training class at the same time. 🤔🤷🏻♀️😊🥰
We can't have unrealistic expectations for educators and then gaslight them by saying they need to practice self-care.
Thank you for coming to my TED Talk.
Offering up a simple challenge to anyone interested in joining me:
Tomorrow (Monday), write a kind note to a colleague on a Post-It note. Offer an additional blank Post-It note with it if they would like to write one to another person.
@scmaestra If I were not to return to the education field, I would have either a Christmas tree farm or a wedding venue in the middle of the Woods (or both), as this would mean that I’d hit the lotto and won millions.
Such a great point. I’d like to continue with: Aren’t there more pressing matters than banning books? Like how can we focus on SEL or increase school funding or pay teachers livable wages or give teachers & students more in-class support? (Just to list a few)
When folks ask why some push charters:
1) Billions can be made privatizing public schools
2) Segregation can be facilitated in charter schools
3) There are few accountability measures--poor performance flies under the radar
4) To create as sense of outrage and win elections
Wow! I can’t imagine how the students feel. I can’t imagine how the teachers feel about police officers subbing for them. Just wow. What has this world come to that police officers are subbing for teachers?!?!?

We need higher pay for teachers & more actual teacher supports like parapros & T assistants. How can we afford this? Consolidate our upper admin. Have each county on the SAME contract w/ same benefits. Combine super positions like C&I. Utilise the ISDs to replace assist supers.
As a teacher, I’m tired of only being thanked for our extra efforts.
It’s time for change.
It’s time for respect.
It’s time for a raise.
It’s time to make the profession sustainable!

My opinion: Great teachers know that every student in the class has an invisible IEP. Everyone has different needs. You tailor, design, and adjust for all kids.
