Chor Saala! He copied the ice stupa concept from Chewang Norphel, another Ladakhi.

Chewang Norphel was the first to invent the concept of making artificial glaciers, ice stupas & providing water to Ladakh and by 2012, he had made 12 such glaciers with the total cost of only ₹ 90000.

For this work, Norfil won the Jamnalal Bajaj award for Application of Science and Technology for Rural Development for constructing these ice stupas in 2010. He was also awarded the Padma Shri by the President of India in 2015.

Chor Sonam Wangchuk was brought to artificial fame by Turkish Aamir Khan through '3 Idiots' with a special intention & agenda and then credit for these Ice Stupas was wrongly & intentionally given to him.
