🚨 BREAKING: We reveal the news that even Ruto himself might not have wanted many of you to know today.
He has landed back in Kenya aboard private jet T7-BBJ at 6:30 PM EAT.
Coincidentally, or not, his return came at the exact moment the entire country was glued to the KSh 4.8 trillion Budget debate.
While Kenyans were busy discussing taxes, spending, and the cost of living, the President quietly touched down back home.
This appears to mark the end of a trip that cost taxpayers more than KSh 4 million per flight hour.
We tracked this aircraft from the moment it left Finland.
We waited for government officials to announce his arrival. None did.
As usual, the question is simple:
What exactly was the ROI of this trip?
If it's deals, this government has announced hundreds of deals from dozens of foreign trips. Yet most Kenyans cannot point to a single change in their daily lives that is due to them.
If it's 1,000 jobs in Norway, then compare the cost of the trip against the salaries those jobs will generate.
At some point, taxpayers have to ask whether these trips are investments or expensive photo opportunities.
The Budget was read today.
Taxes were defended today.
Billions were allocated today.
And quietly, the President returned home.
We'll continue tracking these flights and revealing what others won't.
Follow me here - Sholla Ard - as we hold the government accountable.
@CiruMuriuki But you can also sponsor a motion of impeachment through your Member of parliament or independently as a citizen... What moves have you made? The people that be have the numbers in the assembly
Kenya will receive Sh1.75 billion ($13.5 million) from the US for Ebola preparedness efforts.
The amount is part of a larger Sh14.5 billion ($112 million) US commitment for the regional response to the outbreak.
Between 2014 and 2025, Nairobi County spent 51% of all revenue on salaries alone for the 0.3% of the county population in government.
Against the legal limit of 35%.
This deprived Nairobi citizens of KSH 46.8 billion in services.
During the same period, the county spend 13% on average on "development" - against the legal minimum of 30%.
This deprived Nairobi citizens of KSH 52 billion in development.
Roads. Hospitals. Drainage Systems.
While this was happening, the county wasted KSH 7.7 billion travelling around the world.
Additionally, approximately KSH 74 billion, with a B - have either been stolen, wasted, or is unaccounted for between 2014-2025.
A county cannot consume close to 70% of all resources on itself and claim to be serving citizens.
And then, steal the rest.
Change, Must Come.
@NairobiAssembly@SakajaJohnson@NairobiCityGov
Nothing insults the intelligence of citizens than the trips taken by greedy, incompetent, and corrupt government officials.
Take a look at these trips by Nairobi County.
19 people blew KSH 37 million in Morocco, learning all about "Proactive Management". Two weeks!
14 people went to Vancouver BC to study "conflict resolution" at KSH 11 million.
7 went to Dubai to study "Personal Branding" at KSH 9 million.
11 went to Dubai to attend a fashion show, at KSH 17 million.
Between 2024-2025, @SakajaJohnson and his predecessors blew KSH 7.7 billion that way.
On 100% wasteful travel.
KSH 7.7 billion.
Enough to build 7 Level 5 hospitals.
It's the height of incompetence.
@NairobiAssembly was also in on the scam. The MCAs were also participating in the looting.
Fuel prices rise, matatu fares jump by 50%, electricity costs increase by another Sh4.40 per kWh through new EPRA levies, rent keeps soaring, and food prices climb with every transport adjustment yet salaries remain frozen in time.
At the same time, workers are stripped through a 1.5% housing levy, 2.75% SHIF deduction, 6% NSSF contribution, and crushing PAYE rates of up to 45%, only to still fundraise for hospital bills because public systems barely function.
This is no longer an economy built for citizens; it is an extraction machine where every crisis is transferred to the ordinary Kenyan while wages remain stagnant. Tough times are slowly becoming a permanent economic condition.
Niliquit 9-5 ilikuwa inanilipa 150k/month.
Imenitake two years for my company kunilipa 67k/month na nafanya kazi from 7AM to 11PM every day, na sometimes unapata uko na employees wanakupea the hardest time ever, na kuwafuta kazi ni even more expensive.
Every month uko na bills za kulipa in the millions, end month kila mtu ako happy isipokuwa wewe juu uko na another 30 days kuraise another million. Na imagine all this trouble ndiyo net salary yako ikuwe 50k
Sometimes doh haitoshi unasema wacha ulipe the employees alafu KRA utawatumia yao by 9th, unajaribu kupata loan bank inakataa juu hauna shamba ya security, inafika 15th unapata weird calls, unashika unapata ni KRA, unawaambia utawalipa next Friday, wanakuambia Friday haiwezekani, labda Thursday. Inabidi uongee with one of your clients akulipe mapema, anakusomea akikuambia biz haifanywi hivo but anaitikia eventually.
Next week inafika unalipa KRA, SHA,NSSF, Housing Levy. Unahave some peace kidogo only to realize that next week ni end month na this time uko na deficit kubwa kushinda last month, and the cycle continues.
Kama uko 9-5 na uko sawa, I can’t advise you to quit. Heri ujaribu entrepreneurship in parallel but usiquit job yako. It feels good when you tell people that you quit your job to pursue your dream but you also need to understand that your dream will take time before it starts paying the bills, and it might also die before you eat a shilling from it.
With all due respect Edwin Sifuna asked us to simply show him these numbers we have through our platform
