Speaking at the @PMNCH Annual Accountability Breakfast on the margins of #UNGA81, Hon. Dr Austin Demby, Minister of Health of Sierra Leone, emphasized that accountability for the health and well-being of women and children is a shared responsibility.
"Nobody cares more about the women of Sierra Leone than I do. Nobody cares more about the children of Sierra Leone than I do. As a nation, we believe that every woman is precious, and every child that is brought into this world takes so much effort, and it's our obligation to ensure that this child doesn't only survive, but that the child thrives. We believe in investing in our people. And so, when we talk about accountability, it's not the minister's accountability, it's not civil society's accountability. It's all of us, all of society." — Hon. Dr Austin Demby, Minister of Health, Sierra Leone
