100 users - ~$2.5k MRR. 100% organic
The good, the bad, the ugly:
the good:
Still just using my personal organic reach for marketing, which shows huge potential for scaling through more accounts, languages, platforms, and videos (currently working on it will post about it when it's live)
the bad:
churn reflects after a whole month. Waiting to see what that metric is a few weeks from now bc it's instrumental in prioritizing initiatives for growth.
the ugly:
the app had a 0 day usage problem that i'm trying to fix(need to collect more data) most users don't keep using the app daily and have a very fragmented usage frequency.
let's see how it goes!

I did NOTHING to create this video!
I just said: "make me a new video".
in 10 mins i got this!
This is crazy!!
FULLLY autonomous AI marketing.
I will create an army of these creators to Promote https://t.co/XqoUDsop7Y and see how far it takes us.
then i will enable you to do it through Promoat itself.
what questions do you have about this? what features would you like to see?
Ask me anything.
HUMANS MUST BE IN THE LOOP!
Working on a fully autonomous Al UGC videos pipeline for Promoat and despite how much effort went into perfecting the output quality.... We got this
how do you anticipate this and prompt for it?๐
maybe the real autist/adhd advantage is that we can move up and down abstraction layers
when tech like this comes along we don't even notice the change
agent-maxxing feels exactly the same as writing x86 did in my first year of college
i'm typing in a computer, problems are being solved, my ideas are coming to life, shareholder value is being created
its not that deep bro stop getting attached to your z value on the fractal tree
RevenueCat just dropped their State of Subscription Apps 2026 โ the most comprehensive subscription benchmark report I've seen. 115,000 apps. $16B in revenue. 1 billion transactions.
I ran ProMoat's numbers against every metric. Here's where we stand, unfiltered ๐
---
๐ First, the wild stats from the report:
โ The median subscription app is at $72 MRR one year after launch
โ Only 4.6% of apps ever reach $10K MRR
โ Monthly subscribers churn at ~89% before the one-year mark
โ Geography alone creates a 5x difference in revenue per install
โ AI apps generate 39% more LTV per payer than non-AI ($18.92 vs $13.59 median)
---
๐ Where ProMoat sits today (2 months post-launch, March 2026):
โ MRR: $2k+ : the 1-year all-category top quartile starts at $429. We're already there at month 2. Humbled.
โ GCC install-to-subscriber: 8.3% โ the North America P90 benchmark (the best regional standard) is 10.4%. Our Gulf market is near that. In MEA. With a 2-month old product.
โ Android retention: 85% โ the North America/Western Europe first renewal median is 55%. Our Android subscribers retain at 85%. That's not a typo.
โ ARPPU: $23 โ above the AI app median ($18.92), working toward the top quartile ($29.65). The Pro tier at $108/transaction is the unlock.
โ Overall retention: 63.4% โ above every geographic benchmark in the report. Caveat: it's only been a few days. Real renewal data lands in late March and that's when the real test begins.
---
โ ๏ธ Where we're getting humbled:
โ Days to $1K MRR: ~50 days โ we beat the all-category median (58 days) and smoked the Business category median (113 days). But Gaming gets there in 32 days. Room to run.
โ 87% of subscriber activity happens on Day 0 โ this is our core problem and no benchmark in the report makes it look good. We built a great single-session product. Now we need to make it a habit.
---
What the data is telling us to do:
1. Double down on GCC. At 8.3% conversion and $23 ARPPU, every dollar shifted there returns 8x what the same dollar in Egypt returns ($0.22 vs $1.76 per install).
2. Build the reason to come back. Idea exploration is the only behavior that predicts retention in our data. Not video production, ideation. Content calendar feature is in progress.
3. Grow the Pro tier. $108/transaction. Currently 2 subs. Moving from 2 to 20 would push ARPPU way past the top-quartile threshold.
4. Improve iOS quality for GCC. Our primary market is Arabic-speaking Gulf โ iOS retention at 54.9% is at the global median but I know we can do better.
---
The most useful thing in the SOSA 2026 report:
"The median tells you viability. The upper quartile tells you whether your model scales."
We're viable. Now we need to build for scale.
Happy to share the full benchmark breakdown with anyone building in subscription โ DM me.

If you're a developer, learn architecture and product, otherwise you're useless.
If you're a product manager, learn to vibe code, otherwise you're as slow as a turtle.
If you're too cocky to think AI will not hurt your job, think again.
If all you do is code bc you were the only one who knows how this function works, you're no longer indespensible, matter of fact you're very much despensible and should be despensed of if that's all you do.
Not trying to shove it in your face, this is coming from a place of love. I am a software engineer after all.
Wake up! Adapt before it's too late.
These feel good reports based on Zoomed-in graphs do more harm than good. ๐คก
Yes, software engineering job postings are up 15% from 2025 low.
Now zoom out.
Postings are down 70% from the 2022 peak. 30% below pre-pandemic. The "massive spike" is a rounding error on a cliff.

@MoatassemAI "coding is a tiny part of it" is the sentence. the bottleneck was never typing the code โ it was always knowing what's worth building and for who. vibe coding doesn't move that needle. it just removes the excuse that you needed a dev.
Not a single line of code written for a year now.
Either by me or any of my teammates.
Coding as we know it is gone, forever.
It's not a human's job anymore. It's the machine's job.
If you think otherwise, you're lagging.
You'll get there eventually, but you're lagging.
Your vibe coded App sucks! Mine dosen't.
They're selling you the promise of creating desirable apps as a non technical person. That just won't happen.
So much knowledge goes into building something people want, and coding is a tiny part of it.
AI won't tell you what to build, the best ux for it, the best tooling for it, or best architecure for it (It will try to tell you, just don't believe it).
AI bridges the implementation gap by doing what you ask it to, but it won't bridge the decisions gap and all the data collection and mental modelling required for it. (At least not the AI we have today).
If you're non technical and want to build for the masses, hire someone to do the product development, but expect them to do 20x the output that's traditionally expected. If they can't do it, they're no good.
Antler was right, I WAS WRONG!
I had told Antler in RYD '3 residency program that my GTM strategy for https://t.co/XqoUDsop7Y will allow us acquire 32 active subscribers in 90 days by spending $9k on marketing.
They didn't have enough conviction that that was realistic.
They were right. In fact I couldn't be so wrong.
Because we achieved 32 active subscribers in < 50 days with $0 marketing spend.
ProMoat has crossed the $1k MRR mark, and I think it's a very important milestone on the road we're walking with it!
