I've only just become aware of this method, and it's definitely mathematically sound. The boring question is: will students be awarded marks at GCSE for the arcs drawn using this method? Any ideas much appreciated... @mathsjem @Whitehughes @mrbartonmaths@Just_Maths
I have a question about constructing angle bisectors. The classic taught method is an arc from the point where the two lines meet; then arcs of the same length from the two intersection points.
HOWEVER, there also seems to be another way: draw 2 arcs of different lengths...

This bar chart has attracted the attention of the richest man in the world. Let me walk you through how I would interpret it as a statistician (and a human).
🚨BREAKING NEWS🚨
In an unprecedented move, @NEUnion, @ASCL_UK, @NASUWT and @NAHTnews have announced all four unions will coordinate future industrial action in their dispute with Govt.
So I started in 2006. First salary was about £24k & first flat was £180k for which we had deposit help. They now go for £375k and teaching start is £34k. I had student loans of about £10k. Now it would be £60k.
This is an underlying part of the strike story.
Both the teacher unions and doctors need to point out what schools and hospitals were like in 2010 when pay was higher. Just saying “we used to be well-paid” is an eye roll for the public. (Didn’t we all!) But pointing to what it meant for the actual service would help.
1/3 Calling secondary school teachers. To our delight, in the last couple of years, we've heard from more and more teachers who are using our explainers in class. I'm interested to learn more about how you use them - and if we can do more to notify you of each one.
Why are no news outlets reporting properly that the offer is unfunded??? Without funding to cover the cost, the government could promise us all a 400% rise and it would mean sweet FA
The @NEUnion consultative ballot on the Government's pay offer has been rejected by an overwhelming 98% of NEU teacher members in England on a turnout of 66%. #NEU2023#SaveOurSchhols
