This morning, a Russian Shahed drone hit an educational institution in central Rivne. There are casualties. All emergency services are at the scene.

Russian forces have been attacking Ukraine almost continuously since the early hours. Residential buildings, businesses and infrastructure have been hit in the cities of Kharkiv, Kyiv and Zaporizhzhia, as well as in the Rivne, Vinnytsia, Kyiv, Mykolaiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Lviv and Donetsk regions.

Deaths and injuries have been reported. Homes were destroyed, and industrial and agricultural businesses, warehouses and railway infrastructure were damaged. Search and rescue operations as well as emergency response are under way at the sites.

The diplomatic coordination and sequencing have been disastrous. Americans aren’t stupid. The President of the United States announced a ceasefire, and Putin is openly defying it. This is an extraordinary display of contempt toward POTUS, and his negotiating team has put him in the position of being publicly humiliated by Moscow.

I’m not sure why so many are intent on perpetuating claims of an intelligence pause that does not exist. There are legitimate reasons for concern over recent developments, but that makes accuracy all the more important.

Amplifying unsubstantiated claims only deepens distrust, fuels anger, and further strains relationships at a time when neither country benefits from more confusion.
