@PenguinSix The USAF out of Andrews is one of the biggest polluters over DC. Low altitude loop-de-loops through midnight. Nightly cacophonous "training" and continuity of gov for nothing critical and no accomplishment. Gov waste under the guise of service at the expense of everyone below.
@NWS_MountHolly Thankfully, the "commute" on a Monday holiday won't hold a candle to Saturday afternoon traffic volumes in mild weather. If this snow had fallen today with short notice, travel impacts would be sig worse than during a tame weekday commute.
@maxtmcc It could be worse? Counterpoints: The elimination of projects that would have tunneled freeway traffic forced it onto at-grade avenues in living areas. Roads marked red as unbuilt highways like Rock Creek Pkwy, Canal Rd, etc serve as de facto freeways masquerading as park roads.
@MatthewCappucci Your work is worth more than this wretched platform. It cheapens you and helps legitimize lunacy. It would be like Bob Woodward's byline appearing next to a Daily Star story about the discovery of an undersea mermaid colony. This is no longer a place to be taken seriously.
@DC_HSEMA Please restore access to DDOT traffic cameras, HSEMA. This is the only metro area in the country that doesn't offer any public CCTV to help navigate around events like flooding and crashes.
Furthermore... Understand there is *little* skill in forecasting the *development* or intensity of tropical cyclones *months* in advance. Don't be suckered into the "fear porn."
(Publishing long range seasonal forecasts might get lots of clicks but is of little public benefit.)
@RealTimeNews10 @saulehforanc @DCPoliceDept "Nothing the media can do."
Everyone's made mistakes, but the reporters who've endured, those with top rate intuition, do something with bad information: They question it. They don't repeat it. Getting it right is just as important as getting it first.
