Memes expressing frank contempt for men barely raise comment on social media. Jokes about men comitting suicide are mainstream. This isn't new. But the internet has turned the volume up to a level that can't be ignored.
The new cultural commandment is simple: pursue your happiness, chase your desires, and never settle for anything less. But what if that mantra is leading us all straight toward our collective downfall?
Where did our sense of duty go? A weekend read from me over on S: https://t.co/rQZ21Jx5yE
I've grown rather tired of the narrative that young men are simply choosing to fail. Most of them are trying in a world that hasn't done nearly enough to meet them halfway. Watch the full Modern Wisdom episode with @ChrisWillx wherever you get your podcasts.
Germany's Police association chief Dirk Peglow says women "should avoid men" because of "statistics".
But the latest stats in Germany find an even larger percentage of men (6.1%) experienced IPV than women (5.2%), in the last five years.
So are we all avoiding each other now?
“Rather than being primarily about ideology, the manosphere is a contest over who gets to define success for a generation of boys actively searching for an answer.” Superb weekend piece by @S_VanTeutem@FinancialTimes

I obtained this data from @grok. We keep hearing about the "genocide" of Indigenous women in Canada. 86% of the perpetrators were INDIGENOUS MEN. If you do the math, this suggests that roughly 165 Indigenous women were murdered by non-Indigenous individuals. This amounts to roughly five women per year. A single victim is too many but it might be somewhat hyperbolic to use the "genocide is being committed in Canada."
Hey men - are you outside at night?
What?? Don't you realise some people want men kept at home at night - by law - so women can be safe?
You don't believe it? Read the new article... https://t.co/6790sgB4CX

Grateful to the British Journal of Psychotherapy for the courage to support thoughtful clinical debate in a highly contested area.
Beyond affirmation: Lessons from Tavistock
A psychoanalytic critique of identity certainty and institutional defence.
The paper explores how certainty can function defensively in individuals and clinicians. It argues that clinicians need institutions that support reflective work, rather than pushing short-term fixes or ideological certainty.

The Daily Mail already recognized, two years ago (left image), the recent increase in reported cases of female teachers as alarming!
The fact they are highlighting it again only two years later suggests that not even they believe it was just a temporary spike in reported cases.
"Men have all the rights!"
But also:
Germany announced yesterday that young men are no longer able to freely leave the country without permission, in case their bodies need to be drafted, and used as meat shields in a war.

The war on the “manosphere” isn’t really about protecting women. It’s about controlling the narrative. If legitimate concerns about boys’ education, men’s mental health, or fatherlessness can be dismissed as misogynist extremism, then we never have to examine the policies and cultural shifts that created those problems in the first place. We never have to admit that boys and girls are different, that fathers are essential, or that shaming masculinity has real human costs.

There are many fathers suffering in silence. If we do more to help struggling men and dads—through screening, community, biology-informed understanding, and cultural support—I believe we will see more involved dads and stronger families. The data backs it. The science backs it. And children’s futures depend on it.

“There is just no question that in almost every domain you look at, that the boys are not keeping pace with the girls,” I told @Deseret. The current education system is not serving our boys well if, at almost every level, boys have lower GPAs than girls. Listen to my full thoughts on this, and more:

“Who cares that she pleaded guilty in August to felony aggravated assault against her former boyfriend in 2023 and is on probation? That’s interesting!”
The fact ABC casted Taylor even with her history proves how little society takes female abusers seriously. Shameful!
Is masculinity a problem for men's mental health or a solution?
What is the difference between male-centred therapy and male-friendly therapy?
I discuss these and other issues in this conference presentation
