Earthquakes can strike without warning, but awareness and preparedness can make a difference.
Stay away from windows and move to safer spots such as protected corners during shaking.
Small safety measures and informed actions help reduce risks and protect lives.
Stay alert, stay prepared, stay safe.

My Address at the Medical Meet commemorating 'Indo-French collaboration in Liver & Metabolic Disease Network' (InFLiMeN) at the "Institute of Liver & Biliary Sciences" #ILBS, New Delhi.
Key Takeaways:
"India's genetic predisposition, higher prevalence of central obesity and distinct phenotype make its population particularly vulnerable to Diabetes, Fatty Liver and cardiovascular disease, often even among individuals with relatively lower Body Mass Index (BMI).
India's liver epidemic and the sharp rise in Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus are part of a larger metabolic nexus, with disorders such as fatty liver, hypertension, dyslipidemia and insulin resistance closely interconnected and predisposing one another.
Liver, despite being the body's most resilient organ, is increasingly coming under stress from unhealthy dietary habits, lifestyle factors, inappropriate sleep patterns, stressful behaviour, and environmental pollution.
Metabolic disorders are increasingly affecting younger Indians, making it a national concern rather than merely a medical issue. This calls for a mission-mode national response driven by preventive healthcare and mass public awareness, in line with PM @narendramodi 's sustained emphasis on tackling obesity and lifestyle-related diseases.

Sanand has made a place for itself on the world map, synonymous with cutting-edge innovation and growth. I will be in Sanand tomorrow for the inauguration of the CG Semi Outsourced Semiconductor Assembly and Test (OSAT) facility. It will be a momentous occasion for India’s efforts in semiconductor manufacturing. The facility will cater to areas such as automotive, industrial, telecommunications, 5G and Internet of Things.
Day 2 of Swachhta Pakhwada @IITM 🌱
IITM Pune successfully conducted a *Plastic Collection Drive* on campus today as part of #SwachhtaPakhwada2026.Active participation from staff & housekeeping personnel, helped clean single-use plastic waste was collected from across the campus.
Launched and addressed the 3rd batch of DAKSH (Development of Aspiration, Knowledge, Succession and Harmony), a year-long leadership development programme for Senior Executives of Central Public Sector Enterprises.
Key Takeaways:
"Capacity building is no longer confined to enhancing individual competencies but must also create synergy across institutions to develop governance systems capable of meeting the aspirations of common citizens.
Whole of Government approach calls for convergence of diverse individual and institutional capacities, where institutions and professionals contribute their respective strengths and expertise towards common national goals.
Over the last 12 years, the @narendramodi Government's governance philosophy has evolved from a Whole-of-Government approach towards a broader Whole-of-Government and Whole-of-Nation framework".
Latest Collaborative Research Publication
Researchers from NIOT-ACOSTI, in collaboration with Pondicherry University, Sri Vijaya Puram Campus, have published a research article titled "Efficacy of Phallusia arabica-mediated tenorite nanoparticles in growth inhibition of clinical pathogens and A549 human lung cancer cells" in the journal Scientific Reports.
The study reports the successful green synthesis of copper oxide (tenorite, CuO) nanoparticles using the aqueous extract of the marine solitary tunicate Phallusia arabica. Comprehensive physicochemical characterization confirmed the formation of stable, biofunctionalized nanoparticles. The biosynthesized CuO nanoparticles demonstrated significant antimicrobial activity against clinically relevant pathogenic microorganisms and exhibited potent cytotoxic effects against A549 human lung cancer cells, highlighting their potential for biomedical and therapeutic applications.
This collaborative research underscores the immense potential of marine bioresources from the A& N Islands as sustainable and environmentally benign platforms for the green synthesis of advanced functional nanomaterials. The findings further reinforce the value of interdisciplinary collaboration between NIOT-ACOSTI and Pondicherry University, Sri Vijaya Puram Campus, in advancing research in marine biotechnology and nanotechnology and in developing innovative, eco-friendly technologies with broad biomedical and societal relevance.
