I would argue that Judge is the most popular local athlete since Derek Jeter—who still might be the most recognizable sports star, alongside Eli Manning, locally. Pete Alonso and Francisco Lindor are more recognizable for sure, too.
It’s not a knock on them, either, because they have a great team. It’s just reality.
