2/5: RNA-seq analysis of 194 primary melanomas from a large multi-centre prospective adjuvant trial (AVAST-M) identified a 121 gene expression signature, "Cam_121", that outperforms published alternative signatures in predicting recurrence and survival.

3/5: Cam_121’s prognostic relevance was validated in (n=177) regional LN samples and in two independent published primary melanoma datasets, and stratifies stage II patients into high/low absolute risk of death within 5 years, with important implications for adjuvant therapies.

4/5: Also, it was observed that primary tumours corresponding to patients in the "high" risk prognostic group had low immune cell representations, confirming (using unbiased approaches) the central prognostic importance of immune cell infiltration in long-term patient outcomes.
