Today, #AUSSOM troops in Sector Two, Dhobley, provided security escort to a high-level @UN delegation conducting a humanitarian assessment mission.

The delegation was led by the Deputy Special Representative of the Secretary-General for Somalia, George Conway (@GConway_UN), alongside the World Food Programme (@WFPSomalia) Country Director, El-Khidir Daloum, and the Commissioner of the Somali Disaster Management Agency (@SoDMA_Somalia), Mahamoud Moallim Abdulla.

The team visited the Midnimo Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camp on the outskirts of #Dhobley to assess humanitarian conditions amid worsening drought following the failure of the recent rainy season, which has significantly undermined food security and access to water for displaced families.

The delegation also met with Dhobley district authorities and IDP representatives to discuss urgent humanitarian needs and ongoing response efforts, with key concerns including shortages of food, clean water, shelter, and essential services. #AUSSOMInTheSectors
