​लिब्रहान आयोग का गठन 6 दिसंबर 1992 को हुए बाबरी विध्वंस और उसके बाद हुए दंगों की जांच और उससे जुड़े अलग-अलग घटनाक्रमों की छानबीन के लिए किया गया था।

​खास बात यह है कि लालकृष्ण आडवाणी, उनके परिवार या उनकी बहू को आयोग की तरफ से कानूनी रूप से कोई समन नहीं भेजा गया था। बल्कि, उन्होंने स्वयं जाकर अपनी मर्जी से आयोग के सामने एक निजी हलफनामा पेश किया जिसमें उन्होंने दावा किया कि सोमनाथ यात्रा के बाद जो चांदी मिली थी, उसे मुंबई में पिघलाकर कटलरी (चम्मच-कांटे) बनाई गई थी।

​1992 से लेकर 2009 तक, एक के बाद एक कई एक्सटेंशन के बाद जब अंतिम रिपोर्ट तत्कालीन UPA सरकार के प्रधानमंत्री डॉ. मनमोहन सिंह को सौंपी गई, तो उसमें आडवाणी जी पर लगे इस आरोप का जिक्र तक नहीं था। बल्कि खुद मनमोहन सिंह सरकार द्वारा भी इस पूरी रिपोर्ट को आखिरकार ठंडे बस्ते में डाल दिया गया।

The Government Railway Police (GRP) has arrested 30-year-old Pankaj Lodhi for assaulting and pushing Maulana Tousif Raza Mazhari from a moving train, leading to his death. Police say Lodhi, who was allegedly intoxicated, falsely accused the cleric of stealing a mobile phone before an altercation broke out. Investigators also claim he tried to mislead authorities by identifying himself as "Ahmed" and disposing of his phone and wallet to hide his identity. The breakthrough came after police examined nearly 200 CCTV clips and questioned more than 200 passengers.

The case raises serious questions because it was initially treated as an accident, with police first claiming the victim fell from a train window and later changing the account to a fall from the train door. Only after reporting by The Observer Post highlighted inconsistencies, and the victim’s family filed an FIR, did the case receive closer scrutiny and begin to be investigated as a possible homicide. This is why independent journalism matters: questioning official narratives can help ensure that justice is not denied.
