Here in the real world, "democracy" commonly refers to a system of elected representative government. To give some examples: Canada, France, Japan, Australia.
Most of them manage it without shooting each other.

@xisumavoid That's the one big downside in seeing the people I follow get popular - the signal/noise ratio in comments gets waaaaay low. Maybe YT needs a way to restrict comments to subscribers/patrons only. Or a machine learning algorithm that recognises the comments you don't want to see.
