Thinking out of the box. Glad that a group of autistic young persons enjoy my Origami club. Fun way to work on verb recognition, following instructions upon visual sequence, and turn taking.

Important reminder from @MarkLClifford of what imprisoned Apple Daily leaders have gone through these past three years—and that most of us would probably break under that strain. My anger is reserved for the persecutors, not the persecuted.

“I do not feel anger but immense sorrow at Cheung Kim-hung’s testimony in the prosecution of Jimmy Lai.
“Kim-hung and five colleagues have been held as hostages almost three years, since authorities forced Apple Daily to shut in mid-2021. They have pled guilty but remain behind bars, denied bail, so that they can be used as bit players in the ongoing show trial against Jimmy Lai.
“None of us know how we would react if put under the sort of strain that Kim-hung and others have endured.”
Shocking: @thechinaproj is closing down due to funding difficulties it says were caused by China hawks who discouraged donors. I never really got the attacks--it was hardly a panda-hugging site. Hope it returns in another iteration.🤞 https://t.co/AO8ZPq34mm
The “new and improved” leadership of the Hong Kong Bar Association had nothing to say today about the political arrest of one of their most esteemed members, Margaret Ng, but they found time to release a statement condemning sanctions that don’t exist.
So heartbreaking that at same time as welcoming #HongKongers fleeing #HongKong due to dismantling of freedoms, I'm also receiving cries for help from #Myanmar/Burmese people in UK unable to safely return to their country due to #Myanmarcoup
We must guarantee sanctuary to both!
[First day of #JoshuaWong’s remand]
1. Joshua is now separately remanded in a single cell, being barred from leaving the cell nor meeting other inmates. As the cell light is left on 24 hours, he is struggling to fall asleep.
Hong Kong is experiencing the worst deterioration in democracy in one day! The 5 eye countries must assure and speed up their help . 11.11 is a doomsday for HongKong . #StandWithHK
