@BeesAppled@NormalcyParadox Yeah, I agree that rape culture unfortunately can make people downplay it a lot even when both perpetrators and victims are so well represented like in mw. Media illiteracy is spread unfortunately 😭
Mouthwashing is a good game because it has great representation of what late capitalism does to people, force them into exploit jobs, into lying about symptoms of mental illness and distress, which activates a chain reaction of horrible events. Its not (just) the "rape bad" game.
@Apple_bean_001 That + making the fetus a pony in Jimmy's brain with the whole Anya portion of the game being an ultrasound...god it hit so hard. This game has so many layers of complexity and social critique it's so underrated.
@BeesAppled It's not a shallow analysis, it just must not be the ONLY one. What happened to Anya is still THE core event that changes everything narratively. But it is the culmination and the start of so many more events that should not be ignored when analysing the game.
Fandoms need a reality check summer camp. Someone liking a fictional rapist CAN make you uncomfortable but it's not a SIGN of ANYTHING. Wishing rape on someone because they like a videogame character is wicked and sickening af
