It was a lovely day for some plant biomass sampling last Friday! Very exciting to see how much these roots have grown since we last sampled 3 months ago. Can't wait to get the tissue analysis back to see how much nutrients they have taken up during that time as well 😁

Excited to be getting some nice root growth at one of my floating wetland research sites! Long, dense root systems provide more surface area for biofilm growth which will promote particle filtration, nutrient uptake, and pollutant degradation

Equipment installation in Wilson, NC yesterday. Our water quality samplers will help us see what effect strategic floating treatment wetland placement has on nutrient and sediment removal in stormwater ponds!
