So from joining cadets in 2017 at age 13…fast forward to now I have qualified as a leader.
Well done to everybody for passing 🥳

I was rocked by this news - to the core. It has been upsetting me deeply ever since.
If anyone says ‘it’s just a dog’ then not only will I lean towards a small explosion, but I would also recommend you take yourselves off and watch service dogs at work. Witness the bond they have with their handlers, the undying devotion, the teamwork.
PD Zyla gave her life doing what she loved, and we cannot jump to conclusions until the investigation is complete, so for that we have to wait.
All we can do is to send our love, our thoughts, and our support to Zyla’s handler and the wider police family.
In the meantime, @The_NFRSA came off social media for a while, as a mark of respect. As a charity we immediately chose not to take advantage of a tragic situation, or to profit from it on ANY level, it was simply to us a moment of deep reflection, and frankly shock. To do otherwise would have been unseemly and totally inappropriate.
I’m still shocked. Having had the privilege of spending a great deal of time with handlers from across the country, I know how much this will shatter the dog community from all our services, how much it will be pausing to reflect on how precious their K9 partners are, and how much they value them.
I’ve not been able to think about anything else but Zyla and her handler and colleagues this past 24 hours. What they are going through is beyond all comprehension.
Hug your dogs people, hug all your pets, because as pets they are a member of your family. Spare a thought for the dogs and handlers of the police family today, and let’s never forget PD Zyla.
Rest easy girl - thank you for your service and your devotion to your handler.

Sad yet proud to be at Kettering today with @LottePateman to support family & police family of 35yr-old @NorthantsPolice colleague tragically lost to cancer. From stepdad’s poem: “You never got the chance to use your blue light training but you lived life with the blue light on”
It's a proud day for @northantsdogs as three newly-licenced PDs had their passing out ceremony this morning - say hello to PDs Hugo, Pedro and Titan, who were joined by experience PD Pyper as she relicenced with her new handler. Read more about them here: https://t.co/wd52wZdgJy
The dangers of ignoring the red ‘X’ on the Motorway……..
This incident involving colleagues from @HighwaysEMIDS was investigated by our officers.
If you breakdown, please leave your vehicle & stand in a safe location.

It has been 2 years since we received the devastating news that our friend and colleague, PC1158 Alex Prentice had passed away on duty.
You are so dearly missed by us all & we know that you would have loved to have driven YOUR car!
Miss you so much buddy. 😥

Sisters who wanted to be police officers aged nine achieve lifelong dream of becoming coppers @NorthantsPolice nine years later.

I am RPD Gru formerly of Northants Police, where I served for 3 years as a general purpose police dog. Unfortunately I had to retire due to Gracilis Contracture. My Dad and lead holder has set this account up so you can see what adventures I get up to in my retirement. 🧵1/3
Remembering the now late, great Andre Braugher or as most people know him ‘Captain Holt’ from @brooklyn99 🇺🇸🚨
Epitomising a Senior Police Officer trapped by bureaucracy but a Cop’s Cop at heart; his humour and presence will be sorely missed by fans on both sides of the pond. 🚨
