I’m not loving the NBA right now. Between the racism in media & the absolutely pathetic handling of issues around domestic violence, sexual assault & rape, I’m feeling kind of...done. I didn’t even finish watching Game 1 & I always stay till the end. I just don’t care anymore.

Using the phrase “purity test” in an attempt to shut down or deflect criticism from marginalized grps is a form of tone policing.

Marginalized grps are being left behind by privileged allies, and they’re speaking up.

Also, every time we collectively agree to compromise any portion of our advocacy (say, letting go of masks), we leave someone else behind.

We always have to remember that if we choose that path, we also risk being left behind t/ next time the collective compromises again.

So, looking for more on the current Covid surge in Japan I stumbled upon a video (shortened for tweet).
This is so sad.

But, it’s our Govts we should be angry w/ for delivering us to a place where putting each other at risk of potentially life changing illnesses is common place.

@Homebythelake @anarchodelphis Idc if he wants to wear a bag on his head. What he presented as was someone doing all the things & we supported him through all the Kraken nonsense. Turns out he’d also done indoor dining & a vacation & in response to legitimate questions, he was extremely rude.
