The Modern Family "lake life" episode closing scene with the entire family singing "Total Eclipse of the Heart" is going to hit different now 🥹
Rest in peace, Bonnie Tyler🕊️
Just to be clear, if my child goes out with y’all and y’all return and my child is nowhere to be found, and there’s no answer in sight, your moms are going to be just as sad as I am.
Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk.
The first thing they would say if someone has doubts or thoughts of leaving islam is talk to your parents, talk to your friends, talk to scholars. But when someone's coming in, "no, don't talk to anyone, just walk in".
Or else someone might convince you otherwise.
i was wondering why when i read abt indian arranged marriages in india the structure seems so miserable but when i meet (older) indian couples, their arranged marriages seem pretty happy & i realized its bc im meeting them in america and they moved here without the mother in law
Most people don't know this, but it's in the Constitution of Pakistan 1973 that you can only install a water cooler in a public place if you are doing it on Eid instead of doing qurbani, otherwise it's illegal
Their mommy and daddy told them that if they got straight A’s and played the violin, they’d get in anywhere. As someone who is attending an elite institution, (I had to interview to get in) you also have to have a personality. Likability is essential. Most of them are robots.
I would just like to add to this that the reason female loneliness is not an "epidemic" is because it is a cultural value in most societies, specially ours.
Women are encouraged to restrict ties with her own family and cultivate a relationship with her husband's.

Biggest issue is lack of support from parental home. Once married daughter is left to fend for herself. Even working women hesitate from bringing up their marital discord to their families. If at all they land up in parental home & are "taken back" their life is another hell hole
LOL Will Ferrell just had Chad Smith from the Red Hot Chili Peppers pretend to be him during his SNL opening monologue
"No, shut up! Shut up! Everyone, shut up! What the hell is wrong with you?! He pushed me down backstage, and I fell HARD. Lorne had to give me mouth-to-mouth!"
A Gay Man who marries a Woman in 2004 is not some down trodden hero with a coming out hero journey . . .
2004 was not the middle ages
He is a Liar that stole over 2 decades from a Woman who deserved better.
BREAKING: FedEx driver who pleaded guilty to kidnapping and murdering 7-year-old Athena Strand, has been sentenced to death.
Tanner Horner snatched Athena while he was delivering a Barbie doll to her home in Paradise, Texas.
At one point during the trial, jurors broke down in tears while hearing audio of Horner killing Athena after he told her to take off her shirt and said she was "really pretty."
Athena repeatedly asked for her mother before she was killed.
"Horner is then heard asking Athena to remove her shirt, and there are several moments when she says "no" and asks for her mom. That was followed by repeated sounds of crying, screaming and banging," NBC reported last month.
Following three hours of deliberation today, Horner was sentenced to death by lethal injection.
Your mother is problematic. Your father is problematic. Your son is problematic. Your aunt is problematic. The cashier at the local Tesco is problematic. You've probably bought a cookie from a bakery made by hands that have done unspeakable things. Every chocolate bar you've ever eaten has probably killed a 7 year old child slave in Cameroon. The gas that drives your car is fueled by engines of death. Every person who has ever smiled at you in the streets has committed some act that if you knew about it, would make you profoundly dislike them.
We have all been bad, small, petty, unlikeable, cruel, downright mean. Authors are not special "problematic" beings, they're just more public. Part of being an adult is recognizing that without mercy for our fellow human beings, and ourselves, we'd all be condemned to death. Reading fiction should help us understand that we're all irreparably tainted with evil, every system is corrupted, every line is broken.
And like, that's okay. That's what it means to be alive.
