The Beef controversy is a good indicator of people acting in bad faith out of TDS. There is no good solution to the fact that cattle herds were decimated under Biden. Literally none. You can't magically make cows appear out of thin air and high prices mean cattle farmers are incentivized to sell instead of producing more beef.

If you don't import Argentinian beef people will complain about affordability and extremely high beef prices. If you do import Argentinian beef people will complain about undercutting American cattle farmers.

Reasonable people understand that Trump is between a rock and a hard place and the temporary importation of quality beef from Argentina is actually a pretty good answer to an impossible problem.

Trump inherited the smallest beef-cow herd since 1961. You cannot rebuild 30 million breeding animals in six months. Ground beef is expensive because the U.S. cattle herd is the smallest it has been in roughly 75 years.

Why is the herd so small?

The shortage developed during the Biden administration as years of drought forced ranchers to cull cows, while high feed and input costs made matters worse.

The cattle cycle takes years to reverse.

And no, cattle don’t magically appear because people are angry about grocery prices.

Cattle take 18–24 months just to reach slaughter weight. Rebuilding the breeding herd takes even longer.

So what did Trump do?

He announced a 90-day deal allowing up to 300,000 metric tons of ground beef into the U.S. with no out-of-quota tariffs and a commitment to sell it 25% BELOW current market prices.

The goal?

Give working families some relief at the grocery store NOW while American ranchers rebuild the herd.

A temporary increase in supply to help lower the price of one of the most expensive grocery staples without permanently undercutting U.S. cattle producers.

That’s called a practical solution.

But sure, keep complaining about literally everything.

God forbid anyone acknowledge a concrete step that could actually LOWER food prices.

A simple “thank you” would do.

Heidi Beirich supposedly dedicated her career to fighting neo-Nazis. The indictment alleges she helped FUND them.
Beirich allegedly oversaw more than $1.2 million in SPLC donor payments to a neo-Nazi informant she was romantically involved with, shared a home with, and held two joint bank accounts with. Approximately $140,000 of that donor money allegedly flowed into their joint accounts and was used to pay their personal living expenses.

The same informant broke into an extremist organization’s headquarters, stole 25 boxes of documents, transported them across state lines, copied them, and returned the originals. Beirich allegedly knew the documents were stolen, used them for an SPLC story to raise more money, and then paid another source approximately $6,000 to falsely take responsibility for the burglary.

The woman who supposedly fought hate allegedly helped pay the very people spreading it, used their activity to raise more donor money, and personally benefited from the scheme.

The Southern Poverty Law Center ran a methodical, calculated scheme to defraud their donor base for millions and used an illicit banking structure system to sow discord and hate into our society. This is the ultimate definition of hypocrisy.
Beirich has now been arrested and charged with wire fraud conspiracy, conspiracy to submit false statements to a federally insured bank, and conspiracy to commit concealment money laundering.
This FBI will follow the money, expose the fraud, and find every individual involved.

I cannot stress this enough:

If you have designated yourself as an organ donor on your drivers license, remove it now.

Your family has ZERO ability to override that designation. If the organ donation team designates you as a candidate for donation, your medical team is removed from dictating your care and the organ donation team takes over.

There have been numerous cases like the one mentioned here.

I have personally witnessed people BEGGING for their loved one to not be made an organ donor, but if you checked that box on your drivers license, that’s all it takes. You have consented and give up any right to retract.

Perhaps the dumbest argument coming from people who call themselves conservatives is that groceries would suddenly be cheaper if we pulled out of Iran. No, they would not. Your grocery bill is not an itemized invoice from Ukraine, Israel, or Iran.

Groceries are expensive because the enormous inflationary surge under Biden permanently raised the price level. In June 2022, grocery prices were rising at 12.2 percent annually, the largest increase since 1979. Everybody wants to like pretend that didn’t happen. Today, grocery inflation is down to 2.7 %. The previous increases don’t magically disappear. Ending a war does not reverse four years of accumulated inflation under Biden (source: Bureau of Labor Statistics)

Trump can reduce regulatory, energy, transportation, and production costs, improve supply conditions, and prevent another inflationary explosion. And by the way, he’s done all of that already. But returning the entire country to 2020 prices would require deflation which generally means a severe recession or government price controls, which conservatives used to understand were disastrous.

Some of the people making this argument who are conservatives are not stupid.

Which means they’re probably being malicious.

We are living through a massive information crisis in which at least half the population is being systematically misinformed, making any sane national debate increasingly difficult. Without a shared factual foundation, there is nothing to discuss. People are not merely drawing different conclusions from the same evidence. They are living in entirely different realities.

That is what makes the Fauci story so tragic. He caused untold harm, yet millions of people know almost nothing about it. We can debate precisely how large a role Fauci played in the creation of Covid, but half the country does not even know that Covid came from a lab. We are therefore several steps removed from the basic conditions required to have an intelligent discussion.

Other facts are even more black and white. Fauci’s private diary contradicts what he told the public. His own words reveal a man of almost limitless narcissism. These are not matters of interpretation. They are documented facts. Yet we still cannot have a national conversation about them because the media either refuses to report them or actively lies about them. Anyone who is not on Twitter, which is most people, may never encounter the underlying evidence at all.

The result is that I increasingly find it almost impossible to discuss any of this with ordinary people, whether family members, acquaintances, or people at events or birthday parties. Unless someone has followed the evidence closely, there is no common starting point. Before you can debate what happened, you first have to dismantle at least ten years of falsehoods and omissions.

I do not know how this ends, but it is not sustainable. A country cannot function indefinitely when its people are no longer capable of discussing almost anything beyond sports on the basis of shared factual knowledge.
